When Dad treats Mom with respect, warmth, patience, and affection young boys absorb what love, masculinity, conflict and emotional safety looks like. The way a father treats a mother becomes one of the child's deepest templates for relationships. Children imitate what is modeled far more than what is preached. Modeling to my son healthy masculinity is an honor and massive responsibility. I am far from perfect and everyday brings a host of new challenges but it crystal clear of my primary purpose.

In May-June 2014, I planned to study abroad in Orvieto, Italy, where I would live in a homestay with an Italian family in order to work on learning the language better (after two years of classes).
Due to the fact that I would be voluntarily working at a camp in August, Donna Swaim awarded this scholarship to me to financially help make it possible to have both of these experiences and spend the summer in Europe.

Blackmagic Design Davinci Resolve full time after 4 months After sending Edius into well-deserved retirement, Resolve has taken over as my full-time editor. Before, I used it for maybe 2-3 hours a day, but for the last four months, it’s been in constant operation: 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. The result? Around 300 television segments packed in that time. The segments themselves aren't anything special, nor are they the point of this story. The point is the tool—how it handles the daily grind and whatever mess of materials I throw at it. I’m working on an HP Envy (32 GB RAM, 3060Ti)—nothing special by global standards—but the point is that it works damn well. Rendering is fast, and the Voice Isolation feature saves my life when I’m dealing with horror-show audio. I’m a minimalist by nature and I hate a cluttered timeline, so I use templates and custom graphics for lower thirds to keep everything tight on as few tracks as possible. Clean project, clear head. And then I see people complaining that Resolve "crashes" or that it’s "too demanding." How come it works for me on an average machine? Don't expect the software to do everything for you or someone else to solve it for you. I understand it's okay to ask for help if you can't find an answer—no software is perfect, that doesn't exist. But looking at forums and FB groups—the questions are mostly stupid, with answers provided a million times already. People go out of their way to explain things, and then some guy comes along and says he "deleted the software" because something didn't just "click" for him. WTF? It seems people expect an AI generator instead of editing software, or they’ve just become plain stupid in the meantime. The problem is you. Read the manual or at least watch the official tutorials before you start trashing the software.
