We started in Chicago with Cognitiv, bringing brand and agency leaders together for an intimate conversation on the ways AI can better reflect real human behavior and what it really means for business. Then we headed to SXSW, where we partnered with Salesforce and ADWEEK for an inspiring and very fun dinner with c-suite executives focused on aligning innovation, growth, and leadership. And last week, we hosted an incredible evening at Shoptalk with The Trade Desk, bringing together the leaders shaping the future of retail and commerce. These intimate gatherings provide space for deep conversation and an opportunity to build long stand relationships. Most importantly, these conversations are helping turn ideas into action. Not because I doubted the work or the effort, but because I spent years being the person who 'almost' wrote a book. The person who almost let my maybe become no. Until I said yes. Maybe next year. Maybe when things settle down. Maybe when I feel more ready. Maybe. That word became everything to me. Not as an excuse, but as a doorway. I started asking what “maybe” actually means. Where it comes from. What it costs us. What it tries to protect us from. And somewhere in that question, a framework emerged — seven stages that map what actually happens when you’re standing between the life you have and the life you’re not sure you deserve. The book is called Maybe: Turn What-Ifs into Brave Next Steps. It’s also deeply personal. There are stories in it I’ve rarely, if ever, told publicly. About the employee who longed to be a professional songwriter. About the songwriter who was pretty damn sure the world didn't need another love song. About burning the candle at both ends and the middle in order to balance a corporate career and a creative drive I was done pretending didnt exist. Those weren’t separate lives. They were the same maybe, wearing very different clothes. I wrote this book for the people who are mid-maybe right now. The ones sitting with something unfinished, something unnamed, something they’re not ready to say out loud yet. You don’t have to be ready. The maybe is enough to start. My book is here. AN ADVERTISING INDUSTRY LEGEND JOINS THE BOARD AT CONVERGE "The opportunity can prove positive -- not just for Converge, but the entire industry -- what it means when “you actually take responsibility for your client’s business,” said Matt Seiler. He notes that #professional #services organizations operate at about #70% #billable operation, while 85% of professional services firms still rely primarily on #hourly #billing models through traditional time-based compensation, and only between 15% and 20% have successfully transitioned to outcome-based pricing, despite proven higher margins. Many #advertising and #creative #agencies are unable to fully leverage the potential of AI because they are trapped in traditional compensation models. Instead of getting paid for results they deliver, agencies often charge clients based on the time and resources spent on a project, such as hourly billing or retainers. It’s also tied to how many people it takes to run the business and how much money they can be convinced to spend. “Think about the root of the word agency, it’s 'agent,' and what it means to be an agent working on behalf of the client,” Seiler says. “As most holding companies move to principal media buying they lose track of for whom they work.” - MediaPost 9/10/2025
