On Pirates of the Caribbean, you can now watch a pirate transform into a skeleton in real time. It started as a prototype in the Imagineering R&D lab seven months ago, and now it's running on the ride. Like Leslie Evans says, "it's not about the tech. David Andrade reacted on thisDavid Andrade reacted on thisI think we're entering the next major paradigm in software engineering. Agile changed how we iterate. DevOps changed how we build, deploy, and operate. I believe AIOps will change how we think about engineering capacity. This idea came from something I've been seeing with my own engineering teams: As developers get better at using AI, their AI consumption goes up—not down. At first, that sounds like a cost problem. I think it's actually a productivity signal. It creates a flywheel: More AI capacity → less reason to ration AI → developers use more agents → better workflows → higher productivity → more reason to automate → higher inference utilization → more capacity. Then it repeats. There's an interesting parallel to Moore's Law. Cheaper computing didn't make us consume less compute. It enabled us to build things that weren't previously practical. I think increasingly abundant machine intelligence will do the same thing to engineering. The future developer won't simply have an AI coding assistant. They'll increasingly orchestrate planning, implementation, testing, review, security and documentation agents. At that point, the limiting factor isn't how much code a developer can produce. It's how much intelligence they can effectively orchestrate. I put the larger idea and what I'm calling the AIOps Flywheel into an article: https://lnkd.in/ejtp3Ubu Agile taught us to iterate. I had great time, met new people, saw friends, partied, and talked about the games we’re building. The conference felt very positive, and I came home inspired and driven to keep developing NIGHT WITCH Studio and help devs with the art for their games. Also, thanks to everyone for the great advice and support about the game NIGHT WITCH Studio is working on with Psychic Reality Studio. After talking to some advisors and publishers, I have more clarity and structure on what’s next for us. My next stop is XDS in Vancouver next week! 🤪 gamescom dev #gamescom26 Kay Chan

There aren't many of them right now, and the action itself is very basic, very organic to the world and to people. And if something is popular or meaningful in the world - it always finds its way into games too. So when Hold My Thing came in for a test, we said yes right away. The game looks nice (shout out to the Minions and The Simpsons), and the destruction is done well. Feels like there's good potential here. We believe it should do great on TikTok. What do you think? How many wishlists will the game get in 24 hours, and how many in a week?

David Andrade reacted on thisDavid Andrade reacted on thisFriends, Friday, August 28th was my last day working at Tencent Games. I want to express my warmest gratitude to all my amazing colleagues. I am especially thankful to Bo Wang, Nachuan Li, and Tian Xiao. When my family and I were figuring out my next step after Amazon Games, they supported us with remote work and a fantastic role. There is not a single thing that Tencent promised me when I joined that they didn't make good on. Additionally, the work at ASGC, which started while I was at Amazon in 2022, and all that we have done together as a community, was only possible because Tencent remained totally supportive and hands-off regarding this independent work. I can’t thank my Tencent colleagues enough for what they gave me over these past three years. I will remember most warmly our incredible trips to China, a country I had never visited prior to this role. The only reason I am leaving is to move toward something new, a great opportunity that I am convinced will give me the best chance to match my passion for helping others with my skills, in a role tailored to my strengths. ASGC will continue alongside this new opportunity as my night job, completely unchanged. I can’t wait to tell you about it tomorrow!

Our latest We Call It Imagineering episode takes a closer look at “Disney Parkitecture" and the many creative choices that shape the Disney parks experience, often in ways guests may not even realize. Architecture is a great example of this. It does so much more than define a place. It helps set the mood, guides how guests move through a space, and is always in support of the stories we're trying to tell. The REFERENCE - BVM-HX310 There are Reference monitors … and then there is the Sony BVM-HX310. We were the 1st in Singapore (and also possibly SEA) to bring in the original BVM-X300 and it ushered in the HDR grading era for Mocha Chai Laboratories. Being Dolby Vision certified, we wanted to make sure that we were using the absolute best. For the uninitiated, this reference monitor is known within the industry to the be THE STANDARD for Dolby Vision HDR color monitoring. 6 years on today, we bring in a new BVM-HX310. With dual stacked LCD and upgraded specs, this new monitor can do a full screen 1000nits sustained unlike the previous model. Though it is LCD, the dual stacked technology did some voodoo magic there and you’d be hard pressed to tell if it is OLED or LCD, even side by side. Along with the Apple Mac Pro M2 Ultra and a BMD Decklink 8K, even our original Dolby CMU is now retired as we move to an iCMU pipeline.
