Cindee Weiss liked thisCindee Weiss liked thisSXSW 2026 is over and I'm going to sleep as much as possible before taking off for Shoptalk next week. But first, quick shouts to everyone that spoke with me onstage and caught up while in town: Kicked it off on Saturday with Peloton Interactive's Megan Imbres and Neutrogena's Kevin Shapiro talking about brand storytelling, then hopped over to the LINE to chat with Razorfish's Mac Hagel, American Airlines' Jaclyn "Jacs" Wyatt, and Uber's Rebecca Kemp to discuss what the kids think about brand loyalty. On Sunday, I got to host a group chat at ADWEEK House all about brand experience and experiential, something that's historically been central to SXSW (but wasn't really as big this year). Thanks to Jiayu Lin, Ty Stafford, Winnifer Thomas-Cox, Brandon Lentino, Judy Lee, Mark Luker, and Carly Van Sickle for such a fun and interesting conversation. To wrap things up, I popped over to Monks to talk about how AI is helping brands speed up creative asset development, making it almost as fast as media buying, and all the friction that exists as those transitions are happening. Thanks to Bryan Sherman, Tamara (Tammy) Pienknagura, and AJ Magali for sharing your expertise. And endless thanks to everyone who got coffees and lunches, chatted in hallways, shared goss, and helped me track down the meatless tiny bites — see y'all next year!

Cindee Weiss liked thisCindee Weiss liked thisAfter many rewarding years at American Securities, I’m excited to start a new chapter. I’m happy to share that I’ve joined BERO as Executive Business Partner to CEO and Co-Founder John Herman. In this role, I’ll support John and the leadership team across operations, culture, and leadership enablement as the company continues to grow. BERO is building something exciting in the non-alcoholic beer space, and I’m grateful to join a team focused on thoughtful growth and strong leadership. As most of you know, I also spend time on stage as a humorist and storyteller, which has taught me that whether you're building a company or telling a story, clarity, collaboration, and timing matter. Looking forward to helping build great companies—and great stories.

Cindee Weiss reacted on thisCindee Weiss reacted on thisSeven years ago, my Clio family sent me to Los Angeles to launch our West Coast operations and lead Clio Entertainment. After five beautiful years in New York, my now-husband and I packed up our two oversized dogs and drove across the country to start something new. We built a home. We built a community. We built a life. Seven years, two kids, and a pandemic later, we’ve never felt more rooted. Professionally, what began as a leap of faith has grown into a small but mighty West Coast team. Four of us building, producing, problem-solving, and championing creativity from this side of the country. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together and the presence we’ve established in the entertainment and advertising community here. These years have stretched me in every way. I’ve had the privilege of integrating deeply into the entertainment community and spreading my wings across the broader West Coast advertising world. So many generous, brilliant people here took me under their wing: lifting me, teaching me, and helping me grow as a leader. There will always be a part of me that misses New York, like an old love you’ll always carry a soft spot for. But here in Los Angeles, I’ve never felt more alive. More at home. More myself. What a gift these seven years have been.

Cindee Weiss reacted on thisCindee Weiss reacted on thisI’m so lucky! Back in August I mentioned “more to come”, I’m sure no one remembers but I do feel like that was unfair not to ever follow up….so During our trip to Japan in August we closed on a small house in the Izu peninsula. Let me say that real estate in Japan is very inexpensive compared to the US. We made this decision for a number of reasons not least of which was to give my wife a foothold in her home country. We do love it!! Great area and pretty close to Tokyo. Over the last two weeks we got to go back and enjoy the house (last time was great but a lot of work). I also brought my folks who will be 86 and 87 this year. While it wasn’t easy for them it was a true blessing to share this experience with them. For them to spend two weeks with their youngest grandson and to have meaningful time with us was amazing. We also decided to rent the house when we’re not there. That’s probably another post but it is not easy and a bit overwhelming for my wife as she needs to take the lead. Lots of challenges and details. When I started my business I used to say, well there are 24 hours in a day so it will be fine. That’s a lie. Having your business is 24/7. I care deeply for my clients, team and residents. Even in vacation you never get a real day off. I just can’t disconnect. I’m not complaining but if you’re starting your own company be aware that this is the case. I love it and wouldn’t trade it even when I’m exhausted. So when you do take time off / away you need to make it special and be present. (I worked every morning which made the trip more relaxing - daytime is night time in the Us so it works great) Happy 8 years to Two Tree Consulting !!! Photos: Mt Fuji from Mt Omuro (5 min from our house), my folks in our house, my favorite room in our house, dinner Friday night at Jisaku in Tokyo where we got married in 2019. #growth #consulting #anniversary

The future of agencies is flexible. The best agencies aren’t defined by headcount, they’re defined by adaptability. Freelancers make that possible, giving agencies the freedom to flex resources in line with demand. The result? Less stress, better margins, and happier teams.
