About us

WorldStrides provides educational travel and experiences to more than 530,000 students a year. Founded in 1967 by a middle school social studies teacher from Chicago, the company has since grown to become a leader in experiential learning for students of all ages throughout their lifetime learning journey. In addition to domestic and international travel and study abroad programs, WorldStrides offerings include performing arts, sports, language immersion, career exploration, and service-learning. Each of these experiences helps students to see beyond the classroom and to see the world – and themselves – in new ways. Our global team is 1,500+ strong, united by a passion for what we do. We work with students, parents, and teachers, and behind the scenes too, to deliver experiences that transform lives. Let's get out there - together! An unforgettable day for the students of St. Francis Xavier School 🇺🇸✨ Thanks to the incredible leadership of Course Leaders Kate Toomey and Matt Haas, students had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend a private meeting with a sitting Supreme Court Justice before stepping inside the highest court in the land, the United States Supreme Court’s actual basketball court! Experiences like these bring history, government, and civic learning to life! Watching students stand where historical decisions are made is exactly why educational travel matters. They ended the day gathered along the National Mall, overlooking the Washington Monument. Moments they’ll never forget.

  • The world is waiting to be discovered. 🌎 There's something magical that happens when a student stands at the edge of a rainforest, feels the ocean breeze on a new coastline, or walks through a community on the other side of the world for the first time and realizes just how breathtaking this planet really is. At WorldStrides, we exist to create those moments. And through our Service Learning programs, students don't just explore the world, they give back to it, rolling up their sleeves to make a real impact in the communities and places they visit. Here's to the planet that makes every adventure possible. 🌿 Happy Earth Day. May it inspire you to go, to see, and to cherish every corner of this incredible world.

  • 🌍 This #BCorpMonth, we’re celebrating how learning comes to life—inside and beyond the classroom.   At WorldStrides, we believe education is the strongest when knowledge and experience work together. Classrooms build foundations; experiential learning brings those lessons to life. Our purpose is simple but powerful: to make transformative, experiential learning accessible to every student, at every stage of exploration.   That purpose shows up in many ways. It means supporting students on service‑learning journeys to places like Costa Rica, Kenya, and Cambodia where learning is grounded in contribution, connection, and global citizenship. It means immersing learners in language, culture, the arts, career exploration, and study abroad experiences across more than 100 countries, reinforcing what they learn in school with real‑world perspective.    As one of the first educational travel organizations to earn B Corp™ Certification, we’re proud to be a leader in the global movement proving that doing good and doing business well are inseparable. This certification reflects our commitment to accountability, transparency, and long‑term impact for students, educators, communities, and our team members.   #BCorpMonth #ExperientialLearning #EducationWithPurpose #GenB #WorldStrides

  • This February, WorldStrides joins communities around the world in recognizing Black History Month 2026, guided by this year’s theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations.” For 100 years, Black History Month has uplifted the stories, achievements, leadership, and cultural impact of Black communities. This milestone is an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has shaped our shared history, while also recommitting ourselves to building a future rooted in dignity, equity, and inclusion. At WorldStrides, we’re grateful to support learning experiences that connect participants with destinations rich in Black history and cultural significance around the world. As we reflect and celebrate, we are reminded of the importance of listening, learning, and honoring the contributions—past and present—of Black colleagues, communities, and the participants we serve. Through curiosity, empathy, and allyship, we can continue working toward a workplace and a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered. Together, we carry forward a century-long legacy of resilience, creativity, and progress.

  • At WorldStrides, we join communities across the nation to honor the life, legacy, and leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Today, we reflect on his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and the transformative power of education; values that continue to guide and inspire our mission. Dr. King believed deeply in the importance of broadening one’s perspectives and building understanding across cultures, communities, and experiences. His teachings remind us that learning is not confined to the classroom; it is a lifelong journey shaped by empathy, curiosity, and shared humanity. As an organization dedicated to educational travel, we are proud to carry forward his vision by creating opportunities for our program participants to see the world, embrace learning, and become thoughtful global citizens. On this day of reflection and service, we commit ourselves to fostering inclusive learning environments, amplifying diverse voices, and encouraging every student to lead with courage and compassion. Dr. King’s dream continues to challenge each of us to work toward a more just and connected world—and we are honored to play a part in empowering the next generation to do exactly that. Today, we celebrate his legacy. Every day, we strive to live it.

  • As the year comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the moments that mattered, across cities, on stages and fields, and in places where learning came to life beyond the classroom. Through the Gift of Education, supporters help make these experiences possible, giving students the confidence to try something new, the curiosity to explore, and the connections that last long after the journey ends. Thank you for believing in educational experiences that don’t just create memories but help shape students for a lifetime.
