Congratulations to the Summer 2026 Inaugural Waianae Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Cohort! Last Friday, WCCHC hosted the graduation ceremony for the first Kapiʻolani Community College EMT cohort offered in Waiʻanae at Leeward Community College – Waiʻanae Moku. Fourteen graduates from West Oʻahu completed the 12-week intensive, college-credit EMT training program and were recognized with certificates and a pinning ceremony. Mahalo to the graduates, families, instructors, clinical and field preceptors, and partners who supported this inaugural cohort, including Kapiʻolani Community College, Leeward Community College – Waiʻanae Moku, UH Office of Community Colleges – Good Jobs Hawaiʻi, City and County of Honolulu EMS, American Heart Association, Diagnostic Laboratory Services, American Medical Response, and WCCHC Ka ʻIke Ola’s Education Department. Through rotations at WCCHC, The Queen’s Medical Center – Punchbowl, and Pali Momi Medical Center, students gained hands-on experience caring for patients in clinical and emergency settings. WCCHC was proud to support this partnership by helping bring EMT training closer to home and serving as a rotation site for students preparing to enter the healthcare workforce. Together we are helping bring more healthcare workforce training opportunities closer to home. We are proud of these graduates and look forward to the ways they will serve communities across West Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi.
