We're bringing farms back to the table. Certified B Corp.

About us

Walden is cultivating a thriving food system from the ground up. Like your own personal farmer's market, we deliver 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised meats and eggs, cheese, butter, groceries, and more—all raised with care, crafted for flavor, and delivered straight from regenerative pastures to your doorstep. We're connecting families in New England, New York and New Jersey with independent family farmers doing it right. It’s a commitment to going beyond sustainability with regenerative farming practices, managing pastures to build healthy soil, sequester carbon, and restore the land. Our animals eat diets they’re meant to, without antibiotics, steroids, garbage (look it up) and other shortcuts. It’s not efficient, but that’s the point. Honest food, raised the Walden Way, is worth it — and our members get it. Together, we’re breaking the grip of factory farming and creating a food system that’s healthier in every way: for the land, the animals, the farmers, and families. If that sounds like a mission worth fighting for, we’d love to meet you.

There is a leader in my family who doesn’t use LinkedIn. My brother Riley. Every day he is leading something much harder than a company or an organization. A farm. High on a mountain in Vermont’s snow belt, he is raising pigs on open pasture. Through wind, mud, snow, and sun. The way farming is supposed to be. Our family has farmed across Vermont for generations. Windsor County. Orange County. Franklin County. Grand Isle County. Some going back to the early 1800s. Now Riley is writing the next chapter. His farm focuses on regenerative practices that prioritize soil health, animal welfare, and stewardship of the land. It is not the easiest way to farm. But it is the right way. I spend most of my days working on systems. Healthcare systems. Policy systems. Community systems. Riley works on something even more fundamental. The land. Different work. Same purpose. Leave something better for the next generation. I am sharing his story here because I am incredibly proud of the life he and his family are building and the way they are caring for their small piece of Vermont. If you have a minute, the story about Riley and the farm is worth the read. Anson Tebbetts check out the story from Walden Local Meat Co. in the comments!
