Last week, Virgin Galactic was proud to support The Aerospace States Association's 34th annual event in our operational headquarters in New Mexico. Astronaut Jamila Hull Sosa was the keynote of the Thomas R. Hobson/Robert A. David, Jr. Distinguished Aerospace Service award dinner, speaking about her spaceflight experience on a Virgin Galactic mission. A heartfelt thank you to Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales for hosting this event and bringing together so many engaged parties from across the states, tribes, and territories to discuss policy, economic development, and the future of aerospace.

Our team had the joy of hosting more than 50 Future Astronauts and their guests in Mallorca this week for a total solar eclipse, witnessed in sunset brilliance. Representing more than eleven countries, the community immersed themselves in a program designed to educate and inspire, all while enjoying the stunning location and warm hospitality of Son Bunyola, part of the Virgin Limited Edition portfolio. Over three nights, they enjoyed local activities and were inspired by our speaker sessions, all before the awe-inspiring moment of totality itself. If this isn’t a bucket-list experience, we don’t know what is.

We built it. You name it. As we prepare the next generation of spaceships, one of them needs a name, and we’re asking the world to choose it. Details → https://lnkd.in/g4et7Emm #nameaspaceship

Virgin Galactic reposted this
Five years ago today, I flew to space with Virgin Galactic on UNITY 22. It was the first crewed commercial spaceflight in history, and one of the most pivotal moments of my life. Thank you to my crewmates - David Mackay, Michael Masucci, Beth Moses, Colin Bennett, and Sirisha Bandla - and to everyone at Virgin Galactic who never stopped reaching for the stars. In the time since, it’s been remarkable to see the next chapter start to take shape: a new fleet of spaceships designed to fly at a more frequent cadence, carry more astronauts and researchers on each flight, and open up access to space. The team are also preparing for new important research missions, including one with Purdue University to study how fluids behave in microgravity, and a pioneering flight with Operation Period to study menstrual health in microgravity - both helping us learn more about life on and off Earth. Watch this space.

🇺🇸 America turns 250 today. Our country was founded on the belief that the next horizon is always worth pursuing. That same spirit lives in every flight we fly and every spaceship we build. And we don't build them alone. Every spaceship we fly is made in America, in partnership with a network of aerospace manufacturers who share our belief that the sky was never the limit. To everyone working to lift humanity higher, thank you. Here's to the next 250. Happy birthday, America. #America250
