I have been going to the RSAC for nearly a decade but this year was truly special. From being a finalist on the Innovation Sandbox to having our first booth, I had a great time! More importantly, our mission became even more important. AI is now well and truly inside the enterprise. Making it observable, secure, and reliable is now a urgent need and 1st Gen AI Security products are already falling short. AI Security & Trust is now the no 1 priority for any organization (not just the CISO). Companies that get it right will thrive and those that don't will not exist in 5 years! Ever since Jake Levirne, Sean Johnson and I founded SpecStory in late 2024, we've been trying to figure out how to make AI multiplayer. Early on we'd screen share on Zoom and dictate into each other's Cursor agent. We moved to Tuple, controlling each other's screens. But it never felt quite right. We couldn't easily share context. The extensions we've built for Cursor, Claude and Codex are designed to solve this by capturing AI session data across the team. They help. 200,000+ folks use them. But they're after the fact. The real problem is earlier than the code. Its often the human conversation where the decision gets made. The moment the scope shifts. The "I thought we agreed" that costs a week. The spec that doesn't reflect what the room actually decided. Every AI tool your team uses today is immensely powerful. And completely single-player. We've been building something to close that gap. A live local-first collaborative workspace where agents are in the room with the whole team. And where your context travels with you when you work async, too. Your conversations, decisions, specs and code. No proprietary format. We're launching soon and we'd love for you to check out Jake Levirne, Isaac Flath and I talk, decide and build. • At Tola Capital, we practice an ethos of partnership in our community called Magnet 🧲 We recently partnered with Microsoft for Startups in NYC and two early-stage investors, Antler and Lorimer Ventures, to host dozens of startups for a Lunar New Year seasonal brunch. The theme of the gathering was luck. You never know whom you’ll bump into on the street, in the elevator, or at a community event. You might reconnect with someone you haven’t seen in years, or you might meet a new collaborator with whom you’ll build something over the next quarter! When luck shows up in your startup journey, lean into it. The relationships you develop intentionally will compound as you scale.

  • Meet David Tepper (Co-founder and CEO of Pay-i), an expert in AI spend and value management.   He founded Pay-i two years ago after a career at Microsoft, where he served as a Principal Architect in the Cloud and AI division. There, he designed the internal platforms and architectures powering Microsoft’s GenAI adoption, along with systems later leveraged by Azure Copilot.   David was named the winner of GeekWire’s “Agents of Transformation” rapid-fire pitch competition, judged by @Bryan Hale (Anthos Capital), Yifan Zhang (AI2 Incubator), and T. A. McCann (Pioneer Square Labs). Read about the recent competition here: https://lnkd.in/eHUuD7a3   A leader at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and business value—David is helping define how organizations understand and optimize their AI investments. Pay-i is a seed-stage startup working with enterprises spending at least $500,000 on AI annually. • Our community called Magnet 🧲 continues to gather ambitious startup founders and engineering leaders who exchange thoughtful ideas and feedback in Seattle. Check out this article in GeekWire’s "Agents of Transformation" series: https://lnkd.in/gMz_2Fe5. The piece recaps the panel conversation that took place at Nooks’ “When Agents Go Vertical” event in Pioneer Square.    Tola portfolio company leaders shared insights on vertical AI agents. AI outcomes will emerge from combining infrastructure, LLMs, domain-specific data, workflows, and context.    “One of the special parts of a vertical agent is that you can really go deep into one domain,” Pulumi CEO, Joe Duffy said.   “We’ve injected them (AI Agents) into almost every part of the stack,” said Nooks co-founder and CTO Nikhil Cheerla, when describing Nooks’ new unified workspace product for revenue teams.    Thank you, Sharbani R. (Arm), for joining this panel. Sharbani posed a question around context and behavior when working with agents: “What did you do this week that you were able to achieve — but better — because you had an agent helping you? How are you making higher and higher judgment calls?”   And, thank you, Taylor Soper, for writing this piece. Wishing you the best with your new role at AI2 Incubator
