🌏 Employee Spotlight: Mark A. Stiefbold, Operations Director – Industrial Systems At TMEIC, global work often opens the door to global experiences. For Mark Stiefbold, a recent trip to Tokyo became more than just travel—it turned into an opportunity to take part in one of the world’s most iconic races: the Tokyo Marathon. “Running the Tokyo Marathon was an incredible cultural experience,” Mark shared. “What stood out most was the energy of the city and the hospitality of the people.” Leading up to race day, Mark and his daughter—who joined as his cheering section—explored Tokyo in a uniquely active way, logging over 40 miles on foot while experiencing everything from historic temples and neighborhood food tours to hands-on cultural activities like Kintsugi, the traditional art of repairing pottery with gold. This was a personal vacation trip, fully self-funded, adding an extra layer of meaning to the experience. Race day itself reflected the scale and spirit of Tokyo: tens of thousands of runners, seamless organization, and enthusiastic support from spectators throughout the entire course. “It felt like the entire city showed up,” Mark said. Moments like these highlight one of the many benefits of working at TMEIC—being part of a global organization that connects employees to opportunities and experiences around the world. “Traveling for work gives you a different perspective,” Mark noted. “And sometimes, it gives you a great reason to come back—whether that’s for business, or something like a marathon.” #EmployeeSpotlight #TMEIC #WeDriveIndustry
