Last week, former SFA President John Roberts passed away. A titan of the specialty food industry, John led SFA for 17 years (1989-2006) and helped spearhead immense growth and expansion that made the Association and Fancy Food Show into what they are today. The Specialty Food Association (SFA) is a not-for-profit, membership-based trade association founded in 1952 and currently representing 4,000+ businesses including specialty food manufacturers, buyers, distributors, and others working in the industry. SFA develops and produces events, professional resources, and educational programs that support its membership and the specialty food industry as a whole. These include the bi-annual trade shows Winter FancyFaire* and the Summer Fancy Food Show, the annual sofi™ Awards honoring excellence in specialty food, regular research and trends reports, and more.
