Ahead of our Invincible VS launch, Skybound CEO David Alpert (DA) and co-chairman Jon Goldman joined Christopher Dring on The Game Business, to talk about our evolving games strategy and why we're doubling down on making our own with in-house studios like Quarter Up. While we're still a proud indie publisher, we're also looking forward to a future of building more games based on Skybound IP. It's another way for us to empower creators and help them scale the worlds they've built, while bringing fans closer to the stories they love. As DA puts it:  “When we’ve succeeded, it’s because we’ve embraced what’s core to the brand. The Walking Dead game from Telltale is a perfect example of that. We set out to make a zombie story that makes you cry. A lot of people wanted to come in and make a twitch shooter. And that’s not true to the brand.” For Invincible VS, we found a talented technical team that understood the fighting game genre intimately and had massive love for the IP, in the people who formed Quarter Up. Then we integrated them with our other in-house teams including comics and animation, to build a game that fit seamlessly into the Invincible universe. That approach is already resonating, with more than 1M players to-date!
