Share Local Media, or SLM, is a rapidly growing startup reimagining the world of offline marketing for tech and e-commerce companies. We started as e-commerce marketers ourselves, and launched SLM with a goal of turning direct mail into a high performing, scalable channel for a digitally native client set. To do so, we’ve taken an inputs based-approach to the space, and re-engineered the channel from the ground up to make it easier to test, faster to execute, more measurable, and ultimately, more effective for e-commerce and tech clients of all types. So what does SLM actually do? We’re a full-service direct mail agency, media program operator, and technology platform, serving some of your favorite e-commerce and tech brands (think Casper, Lyft, Grubhub, etc.). We live and breathe direct response marketing, and strive to delight clients with high performing campaigns built around fast, data-driven client service, and premium, unique branding. Part of working in offline channels is constantly isolating what actually drives performance, partnering with brands to innovate, challenge the status quo, and rethink how channels work together to create smarter, more accountable offline media strategies. One of the biggest problems in our industry has always been that channels are often planned and measured in isolation. But consumers don’t experience media that way. The opportunity is in strategically pairing properties together, using the strengths of one channel to amplify another. Rather than treating OOH as a standalone awareness channel, we used it to build familiarity before the mail piece arrived in-home and reinforce action after delivery, creating a more connected and measurable consumer journey. More importantly, we developed a proprietary OOH matchback methodology capable of connecting exposed audiences directly to customer transactions, helping solve one of offline media’s longest-standing challenges: attribution. The goal was to create a smarter ecosystem where each property worked harder because it was strategically connected.
