Hope. Care. Cure.

About us

Hope. Care. Cure. These three simple words capture what we are here to do. That’s because at Seattle Children’s, compassionate care, breakthrough research and generous donors come together every day for the children, and the families, who need us. Over a century later, we continue to fight relentlessly to make sure there’s no such thing as “out of options” and to make sure kids who “didn't have a chance” can have the childhoods they deserve. At Seattle Children’s, we’re united by a compelling mission: We provide hope, care and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. #HopeCareCure

  • Same wagging tails, entirely different roles in healthcare delivery. While therapy dogs provide incredible volunteer-led emotional support to our community, our full-time facility dogs work a standard week alongside clinical handlers to help patients achieve specific medical goals. • Today, on National Cancer Survivors Day, we honor the remarkable resilience of our patient community. From the moment of diagnosis through every step of survivorship, the strength these children, teens, and young adults demonstrate is truly inspiring. At Seattle Children’s, we are deeply committed to bringing together a world-class team of experts to provide unparalleled care. We are proud to be the premier destination in the Pacific Northwest for pediatric cancer and blood disorders care. Our specialized teams are uniquely equipped to treat the most complex and hardest-to-treat cases, providing innovative treatment options and clinical trials that many centers do not offer. Thank you to our dedicated healthcare professionals for their tireless work, and to the courageous families who inspire our mission every single day.

New wheels, same vital mission. 🚑✨ The Seattle Children’s Critical Care Transport Program has officially welcomed new, state-of-the-art ambulances to our fleet! For our team, these aren't just new vehicles—they are a lifeline for kids in our region. They represent expanded healthcare access for kids and families across the Pacific Northwest, ensuring that top-tier, life-saving pediatric care is always within reach, no matter where a child lives. 🏆 Did you know? Seattle Children’s is the only hospital-based pediatric and neonatal transport program in Washington state to be CAMTS (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems) accredited. What does that mean? It means our program has met the absolute highest, most rigorous independent standards in the nation for safety, clinical quality, and care on the move. Every transport we make is built on a foundation of safety. But specialized technology and gold-standard safety credentials are only as good as the extraordinary people operating them. We want to share a massive thank you to our incredible transport nurses, respiratory therapists, and EMTs. You are out there on the road every single day (and night!), navigating tough miles to save lives, comfort families, and bring world-class care directly to our patients. Keep an eye out for our new rigs on the road, and please join us in celebrating and thanking these healthcare heroes in the comments below! 👇💚 #SeattleChildrens #CriticalCareTransport #CAMTS #PediatricCare #HealthcareHeroes #FlightNursing #RespiratoryTherapy #EMS #PNWHealth #PatientSafety

  • The Kobernik family just wrapped up a meaningful trip to Capitol Hill for the Children's Hospital Association's Family Advocacy Day. Between their busy schedule, they found plenty of time for fun. The family caught a Washington Nationals game, visited the Lincoln Memorial, and explored the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, where Isaiah’s dream of finding a saber-toothed tiger finally came true. The Koberniks also meet directly with members of the Washington and Alaska congressional delegation. By sharing their personal journey, they helped ensure our lawmakers understand exactly what it takes to protect healthcare access for every child who needs it. Rep. Congresswoman Suzan DelBene Rep. Emily Randall Rep. Kim Schrier, MD Senator Patty Murray Senator Lisa Murkowski for U.S. Senate Rep. Dan Newhouse

  • We are grateful to share a special collaboration that brings the imagination of patients at Seattle Children’s to downtown Seattle. To celebrate FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Seattle, Seattle Children’s patients, art therapists and muralist Stevie Shao collaborated on pieces of art for the city’s Unity Loop. Patient artwork can be viewed on one of the Monorail columns and Shao’s mural, inspired by patient drawings, can be viewed in downtown Seattle, near Pike Street and 3rd Avenue Thank you to the patients, families, therapists, artists and Seattle FIFA World Cup 26™ who made this possible.

  • Members of our Seattle Children's External Affairs team recently gathered to share words of encouragement with the Kobernik family while they are in Washington, D.C. Driving meaningful change in pediatric healthcare requires strong voices, and we are incredibly grateful to the Kobernik family for dedication to advocating for children's health at the national level. We are proud to have you representing our community!

  • At Seattle Children’s, we witness the life-changing impact of research every single day. Currently, our institution manages over 800 active clinical trials, offering innovative clinical care to patients who otherwise would have limited or no treatment options. The Kobernik family understands this impact firsthand. When their son Isaiah (now 11) was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA Type I), there were no available treatments. His parents, Anastassia and Gerad (a U.S. Marine Corps veteran), spent six months searching for therapies before fighting to participate in a trial at Seattle Children's. Isaiah has now been successfully enrolled in this research framework for 8 years. His lifesaving regimen—an IV secondary treatment every 4 weeks and regular SPINRAZA injections every 4 months—allows him to thrive alongside the support of a multidisciplinary team of 15 specialists. This level of care relies heavily on NIH dollars. When pediatric research faces funding cuts, groundbreaking clinical trials are put directly in jeopardy. Every child deserves the chance to live the healthiest life possible. We must advocate for the vital NIH funding and Medicaid support that makes this specialized care a reality.
