About us

Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. is an Indiana based television and radio company founded on a commitment to their employees, community and innovation. Along with seven radio stations, the company owns KTVN-TV Reno and WRCB-TV Chattanooga. All are leaders, serving their hometowns with award winning news, sports and entertainment programming. The company was founded by Sarkes Tarzian, an Ottoman-born engineer who moved to the US with family to pursue the American dream. Tarzian became a leading manufacturer of radio and television equipment and was a pioneer in the development of FM radio. To this day, Tarzian’s legacy of innovation lives on. WRCB’s “Local 3 News” is a leader both on-air and on-line, producing more than 40 hours of news and community programming a week with around the clock coverage on local3news.com. The station has been recognized with numerous awards including a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence. KTVN’s “2 News” is based in the heart of one of American’s booming tech hubs, Reno, Nevada. Capitalizing on Sarkes Tarzian’s history of innovation and Reno’s emerging tech culture, KTVN leads the way on all platforms starting with 33 hours of award-winning local news a week plus website, mobile app, and OTT digital platforms. Founded by a family of immigrants, Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. has always held a strong commitment to a diverse, inclusive workplace. Today, Tom Tarzian, Sarkes’ son serves as CEO, leading the family owned broadcasting company in an age of conglomerates. Employees become members of the family too, some choosing to make their entire career with the company.

  • Brad Holtz leads from the front in caring for the Indianapolis community. We are incredibly proud to have you leading the way at ST Radio! Your leadership and dedication make such a difference to our team and our stations.

Brad Holtz got his first library card at the Westfield Public Library when he was 8 years old. He’s been hooked on libraries since. “I always found the information, the ideas, the stories you could access at the library fascinating,” said Holtz, who’s known for his decades as an on-air personality playing “world-class rock” on WTTS-FM 92.3. (He’s also been program director, vice president/general manager and, since January 2024, president of ST Radio, a division of Sarkes Tarzian Inc. that includes WTTS and five other stations.) For the past 20 years, Holtz has been supporting the Indianapolis Public Library — first as part of his job at WTTS and for the past nine years as a member of the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation Board, whose job it is to secure private funding to support Indianapolis Public Library programs, services and facilities. This is high-stakes work, since donor contributions fund about 80% of the library’s annual programs, including the Summer Reading Program, job search services, author lectures and early childhood literacy initiatives. In IBJ's latest Nonprofit Excellence Awards program, Holtz has been named a board member of the year for central Indiana. Marc D. Allan has more on how Holtz and WTTS make fundraising hum. • MANY congratulations to Local 3 News WRCB! We are so happy for our Chattanooga, TN team. A GREAT job well done, hard work pays off! So proud of Perry Pace IV for coming into our station and being such a fantastic leader!

Proud of the Local 3 News team after the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters awards. A year ago, we left empty-handed. I was new to the role, but I could see how much that disappointment meant to the team. That night, I said the next year would be different, and this team made sure it was. They returned with focus, drive, and a commitment to getting better every day. The results speak for themselves: TAB Television Station of the Year, along with honors for Best Locally Produced Digital Product, Best Sports Coverage, and Best Morning Newscast. I’m especially grateful for the managers and colleagues who lead with purpose, tackle the hard conversations, make the difficult decisions, and keep raising the bar for all of us. Their leadership, combined with the commitment of our entire staff, is what makes accomplishments like this possible. I’m proud of what we achieved, and even more excited about what comes next.

  • Congratulations to Gregg on 30 years of service at Local 3 News!!! You are SO appreciated!

30 Years! Congrats to Gregg Acuff on three decades of service at Local 3 News. Gregg joined our station as an account executive, served as Local Sales Manager, and was promoted to General Sales Manager in 2017. He has guided significant change and growth within the Local 3 sales and marketing team. We're not done yet! Institutional knowledge is so valuable. So is an openness to new ideas and new teammates. This guy has both. Enjoy your bucket of beer, Gregg, and cheers to you!
