The relationship between Washington and the business community has changed significantly in recent years. Policy moves faster, media narratives shift constantly, and it can be difficult to separate what's making headlines from what's actually driving decisions. For business leaders, understanding how Washington really works has become a competitive advantage. A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of moderating a conversation at CEO.org's "Inside Washington" gathering with three respected journalists and friends: Robert Bluey, Carl Cannon, and Amber Duke. We discussed that very challenge: how the political and media landscapes are evolving, and what those changes mean for CEOs. Grateful to be part of such an insightful discussion, and thankful to CEO.org and YPO for bringing this group together.

  • 📁 Your best insights are currently dying in the 42nd minute of an audio file. In 2026, if you aren’t providing a visual hook to your podcasts, you’re invisible to the primary way audiences find new voices. Our latest Stat of the Month reveals why video has become the secret weapon for trusted podcasts: 📱The 47% Jump: Short-form video isn't just "extra" content; it’s the #1 driver of full-episode listens. 👤 Why "seeing" a guest’s micro-expressions is now a prerequisite for audience loyalty. 🎧 The New Search Engine: The platform Gen Z is officially using as their primary podcast search engine. The verdict? Your "Stat of the Month" should be a "Clip of the Week." Swipe through for the full data breakdown. ➡️

  • Human behavior isn't always rational. So even with mountains of engagement data and search statistics, many brands are still missing the most critical piece of the puzzle: The "Why." As Brooke Hempell, our SVP of Research, explains if you aren't connecting with your audience on an emotional level and understanding their core motivations, your data is only telling half the story. At Pinkston, we don't just look at the metrics— we look at the people behind them. Ready to move beyond the "what" and start understanding the "why"?

  • At Pinkston, we believe in using our professional expertise to move the needle for causes that matter. Today, we’re proud to feature Justine Gaetano, who used her Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to lead a comprehensive brand refresh for BRAWS. Justine delivered over 40 custom assets, from digital templates to print collateral, to help BRAWS communicate their mission with more clarity and impact. By providing a cohesive visual identity, she’s given the organization a sustainable foundation to better serve women and girls in our community. Check out how Justine transformed their brand system. 🎨✨ Amazing work, Justine!

  • We are thrilled to welcome back Erica Fonseca as our new Director of Project Management! 🎊 Erica is all about execution. To her, PM-ing isn't just about spreadsheets, it’s about the "Right Information, Right People, Right Time" philosophy. Erica shares her blueprint for leadership: • Trust as a Foundation: Success is built on relationships and alignment. • The "Secret Weapon": Why high-level note-taking is the bridge between conversation and action. • Strategic Contingency: How she manages timelines so "scrambling" is never an option.

  • Data is the best antidote to uncertainty. Pinkston is proud to release the latest NVC/Pinkston Northern Virginia Business Leader Survey report. In partnership with the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, we’ve gathered exclusive insights from the region's most influential executives to gauge the economic temperature of 2026. Key Takeaway: A significant "Richmond disconnect" has emerged— 50% of business leaders believe state policymakers do not understand their operations, leading 66% of executives to predict a regional economy that will either stagnate or decline.
