We recently released an analysis of Americans’ views on what causes climate change using Pew Research Center survey data going back to 2016. Here are the four main findings of the last decade: ✅The share of Americans who say the Earth is warming mostly due to human activity has been largely stable, hovering around 50% since 2016. ✅Most Democrats say climate change is the result of human activity, while Republicans’ views are more varied. This year, three-quarters of Democrats say the Earth is warming mostly due to human activity compared with about two-in-ten Republicans. This gap has been very wide—at least 46 points—in every survey in the last decade. ✅Among Democrats, those with more education are more likely to say the Earth is warming mostly due of human activity. There have been consistently no education differences among Republicans. ✅Younger Republicans are more likely than older Republicans to say climate change is mostly due to human activity. There are no age differences among Democrats. Younger Republicans are still far less likely than Democrats of all ages to say this. The link to the full analysis is in the comments.

The Trump administration has issued a new memo that could require many immigrants who are seeking a green card – lawful permanent residence in the U.S. – to leave the country and apply for it from their home nation instead of within the U.S. The memo gives immigration officers the discretion to make decisions on a case-by-case basis. Since 2000, about half or more of new green cards have gone to people who are already living in the U.S., rather than to new arrivals from abroad. #ImmigrationPolicy #USImmigration #GreenCard

In some countries, electric vehicles take up a bigger share of the market than others. In Norway, 97% of new car sold last year were EVs or hybrids, as were more than half of sales in Denmark (71%), Iceland (62%), Sweden (61%), the Netherlands (58%) and Finland (57%). In the U.S., EVs and hybrids represented just 10% of new cars sold in 2025. #ElectricVehicles #EVMarket #HybridVehicles
