Hiring for a Director of Social Impact provides strategic and operational leadership for the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation’s Social Impact program area, guiding the development, implementation, and evolution of the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of Programs, the Director will join the Foundation at a pivotal moment as the Social Impact strategy is being finalized. This role will help refine and operationalize the strategy, translating it into clear priorities, partnerships, and grantmaking approaches that advance the Foundation’s mission and program goals. The Director will lead the execution of the program area’s grantmaking across established and emerging focus areas, while also strengthening evaluation, learning, and collaboration to ensure meaningful and measurable impact. The position is a salaried, exempt, full-time role with a starting salary range of $190,000 to $240,000 annually. Searching for a Program Officer, Coral Conservation who will advance the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation’s mission by managing and strengthening the Foundation’s coral conservation grantmaking area, a signature component of the Conservation Program. The Conservation Program aims to ensure that coral reef ecosystems survive and thrive into the future. Grantmaking currently focuses on a range of conservation and policy priorities including: supporting stronger coordination and collaboration between coral conservation organizations, particularly on issues of building on-the-ground conservation capacity and for strengthening efforts to advocate for global and regional policies for coral conservation; ridge-to-reef conservation efforts in key, to-be-identified geographies; and specific interventions to prepare for the future of coral conservation.  The position is a salaried, exempt, full-time role with a starting salary range of $140,000 to $165,000 annually. We are pleased to introduce Sarah Flores, who has joined PMAFF as a Program Officer. In this role, Sarah will manage the Foundation’s U.S. Ocean policy portfolio, the newest signature area of PMAFF’s conservation work. Prior to joining PMAFF, Sarah served in roles with the U.S. Department of State, the National Science Foundation, and the California Ocean Protection Council. Most recently, as a Foreign Affairs Officer with the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs in the U.S. Department of State, she led the design and oversight of programs addressing environmental conservation and governance across Latin America while building strategic partnerships with governments, non-profit organizations, and local communities. Focal areas of work included marine debris abatement, climate adaptation, building capacity to combat wildlife trafficking, and promoting civic engagement in environmental governance. She is passionate about enabling the work of organizations to drive long-lasting and equitable conservation outcomes. Sarah holds a BS and MS degrees in Geology from the University of California, Davis.
