Last week, I had the honor of presenting awards at the IE Cleantech Corner Initiative & UNC Cleantech Summit to some distinguished recipients. Congratulations to Jigar Shah and Ahmad Chatila for receiving Cleantech Pioneer Awards, recognizing their impact on the renewable energy industry here in the United States and globally, respectively. Jigar has been one of the most influential figures shaping the modern clean energy economy, combining entrepreneurship, finance, and public leadership to accelerate the deployment of climate solutions domestically. Ahmad was recognized for his global expertise in energy innovation, corporate strategy, and investment leadership, with a career spanning public and private sectors in technology and renewable energy. He has been known for his strategic vision and deep commitment to developing people and ideas, as he has helped build and support companies that are shaping the future of energy. It was also a privilege to present Dr. Ruoying (Roy) He with the Cleantech Faculty Innovation Award, acknowledging his remarkable work in translating academic research into real-world impact. Additionally, I was pleased to present the Cleantech Rockstar Award to Alsey Hale (Davidson), who has demonstrated true trailblazing efforts in clean energy.
