While Bevan Sheppard considers the Bushwick Center (Center 66) his “home away from home,” he did not initially envision a career as a city employee. When he joined HRA in the fall of 2023 as a Benefit Opportunity Specialist (BOS), he was stepping into the unknown. “What I did know,” Sheppard shared, “was that I wanted something different — something meaningful that would allow me to make a difference in people’s lives.
