  • Board members Jeremy McClish and Erik L. recently sat down with CEO Eric Jung to share their experiences and perspectives as part of a content update to our Good Governance board training module, one piece of our New Director Training Series. The series helps new directors better understand their responsibilities, how the board helps guide the cooperative, and what it means to represent the members we serve. It’s a great example of Cooperative Principle #5: Education, Training and Information. Our directors are actively involved in NREMC, and providing the knowledge and resources they need helps them make informed decisions and provide strong leadership for our cooperative. Because at the end of the day, every decision we make has one thing at the center: our members.

  • Innovation doesn't happen in isolation. It happens when education, industry, and community partners work together. Northeastern REMC was proud to join community leaders and regional partners at Electric Works yesterday to learn more about Junction 36 and its vision for advancing manufacturing, innovation, and workforce development. Supporting initiatives that strengthen our workforce and economy helps build a stronger future for the communities we serve, and we're excited to see projects like this taking shape.

Big ideas begin with meaningful conversations. Yesterday, Electric Works welcomed community leaders, industry professionals, educators, and partners for a look at the future of Junction 36, Indiana Tech's vision for advancing manufacturing, innovation, and workforce development right here on our campus. Following the discussion, attendees toured the future home of Junction 36, getting a firsthand look at the pre-construction space while learning more about the plans, possibilities, and vision for what it will become. Powered by Indiana Tech, Junction 36 is set to be a regional hub where education, industry, and innovation come together to develop talent, support emerging technologies, and strengthen Northeast Indiana's future in the manufacturing industry. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we continue building what's next at Electric Works.

  • We're proud to showcase how innovative energy solutions are creating real value for our members. Thank you to Purdue University's Indiana R-STEP program, Center for Energy Education, and everyone who joined us to learn more about how battery energy storage is helping strengthen reliability and support long-term rate stability in northeast Indiana.

Northeastern REMC continues to lead the way in Indiana’s energy sector. As part of Purdue University’s Indiana Renewable Energy Planning (R-STEP) Regional Workshop, NREMC recently hosted county commissioners, local leaders, and energy professionals from across northeast Indiana for a firsthand look at its battery energy storage system (BESS). NREMC was the first utility in Indiana to successfully deploy a BESS at scale, an investment that has generated substantial savings for its members. We’re proud to work alongside the NREMC team as it continues to advance innovative energy solutions and help shape Indiana’s energy future.
