About us

National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) is securing financial support to preserve the national ecosystem of independent venues and promoters. These entertainment hubs are critical to their local economies and tax bases as employers, tourism destinations, and revenue generators for neighboring businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and retail. Independent venues exist in every state across the country; they were the first to be closed, they will be the last to open. The economic recovery process will extend past just reopening the front doors, requiring solutions unique to the industry.

Updates

  • Sean Healy is celebrating 30 years as an independent live music promoter — a major milestone for Sean Healy Presents. Since 1996, the company has built a reputation for creating real opportunities for artists and unforgettable experiences for fans. Over three decades, that work has led to more than 5,000 concerts across the country — helping build careers early on for artists including Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, OneRepublic, Machine Gun Kelly, Jhené Aiko, SZA, and TAEMIN. Congratulations to Sean Healy on 30 years, marked by a special anniversary show set for September 19 at Troubadour — one of the venues where his journey began.

  • Celebrating the women shaping live — on stages, behind the scenes, and across the industry. 👏 Congratulations to these NIVA members recognized as Pollstar Women of Live 2026 honorees for their leadership, innovation, and impact across the live entertainment landscape — and to all of the women honored this year. A special congratulations to NIVA Board President Audrey Fix Schaefer on this well-deserved recognition. Proud to stand alongside the women driving this industry forward — across every corner of live entertainment.

  • A massive congratulations to Mark Williamson and everyone at The ROSTR Group — longtime allies in building a more connected, transparent music ecosystem — on the launch of ROSTR 2.0. 🎉 Independent tools like this move the industry forward, and it’s exciting to see a platform designed to better serve the people powering live music come to life.

🎉 Today we're launching ROSTR 2.0 🎉 A year in the making, it's by far the biggest investment we've ever made. 2.0 is a complete rebuild of ROSTR — new tech, new design. It's faster, more reliable, and looks f'ing cool. But, it's also a big evolution of what ROSTR is. In the last year more than half a million people used one of our products — ROSTR, Jobs, New Industry Focus, Stack. ROSTR 2.0 brings all of these together into one platform for the first time. We're also introducing some cool new features: supercharged artist profiles with bios and enhanced insights, a new signings directory, and a complete overhaul of our artist, company, tour and festival directories. When we started The ROSTR Group, our goal was to help create a more modern, connected, and fair music industry. That felt ambitious at the time. But I'm now confident we're actually doing it. 2.0 is going to massively accelerate this. ROSTR 2.0 is live now and free to use. Check it out and lmk what you think below. #musicindustry
