Moments like JDI Day are a reminder of what makes Nike different. We don’t just talk about sport. We live it. Yesterday the NIKE, Inc. team at the Philip H. Knight Campus came together to compete, connect and challenge each other – the same way we do every day for athletes around the world. That mindset – to show up, push harder and keep going – is what defines Just Do It. It’s helped build this company over decades. And it’s how we’ll build what comes next. Special congrats to our employees who took part in some very elite competition on campus yesterday, especially Luis Vargas-Hernandez who ran the Nike Mile in 3:59:71 to cap the inaugural PHK Track Invitational. A teammate breaking the 4-minute mile — only at Nike!

From a working-class city in northern England to NIKE, Inc. EVP, Chief Innovation, Design & Product Officer. Phil McCartney's journey started with a pair of hand-me-down Nikes at age 11. Shoes he loved enough to sleep in. Now he leads his teams with a simple idea: bet on athletes. "The biggest thing in innovation is to take a chance with the athletes and whatever ideas they might have." The breakthroughs, he says, follow from there. A single Nike Mercurial moves through 35 production steps before it’s done. The process takes three hours. Getting there takes nearly two years. In our partner facilities in Italy, where Nike has made football boots for three decades, cutting-edge innovation meets old-world craft. "Despite all the technology involved, it still takes a human touch to turn a prototype into a masterpiece. It's like holding the future of football shaped by the hands of tradition," explains Sergio Cavaliere, Senior Design & Innovation Engineer. Step inside the Italian workspaces where the Mercurial comes to life. https://lnkd.in/ea9iuYeY #NikeMercurial #SwooshLife #NikeFootball #JustDoIt

What did the first Nike campus look like? Phil Knight’s parents’ basement and 300 pairs of shoes stacked in a corner. It took decades of growth — selling sneakers out of a van to scattered offices across Portland — to get to a bigger question: What should a global headquarters look like? "We wanted a campus atmosphere because everybody is a junior in college at heart," Knight told the Department of Nike Archives. "We wanted a place where you could get your work done, but also a place you wanted to be." Now known as the Philip H. Knight Campus, Nike’s world headquarters spans 400-plus acres and is packed with only-at-Nike spaces and features. Dive into all of them here: https://lnkd.in/gtcxytdr #NikeHistory #SwooshLife #DepartmentOfNikeArchives #JustDoIt

Last October, we renamed our world headquarters the Philip H. Knight Campus (PHK) in honor of our visionary co-founder. These past few days, we honored Phil and the place he built with a new tradition: Founder's Week. On Monday, we celebrated Phil the best way we know — by gathering the team for a run/walk/roll around campus. Today was the official dedication ceremony for PHK, complete with some words from another GOAT, Serena Williams. And from our NIKE, Inc. President & CEO, Elliott Hill: "This campus was never meant to be an office park. Office parks are where people go to get through their day. This place was built to make our teammates want to do something *with* their days. It was designed to mirror the soul of sport, movement, creativity, possibility and a belief that none of us has reached their full potential yet.” #JustDoIt #SwooshLife #TeamNike
