Earlier this year, America ByDesign TV showcased The State Historical Society of Missouri, highlighting Multistudio's design approach and the incredible work done by our partners at Spacesaver Corporation and EarthWorks Stone. "The wave to a neighbor, the tree that shades the sidewalk, and the smell of the grass as they pass the local park… these experiences grow a sense of place within the community that students share with their classmates." When we kick off education projects, our design team hosts engagement sessions to determine how a new space can best serve its primary users: students and teachers. How will this be their school, and not a pre-determined design based on assumptions someone made about them? No design is one-size-fits-all, so seeking feedback shouldn’t be, either. Yesterday, our design team joined a media tour of the new American Royal facility in Kansas City, KS, as the 390,000-square-foot venue enters the final stretch ahead of its September 10 opening. Multistudio Managing Principal Anthony Rohr, FAIA, NCARB shared the design thinking behind creating a flexible, world-class venue that can host premier livestock events one weekend and a volleyball tournament the next. From textured concrete floors to high ceiling clearances, details throughout were informed by months of research and interviews. Check out this video from Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how The University of Kansas David Booth Memorial Stadium has come to life through persistent collaboration and a shared commitment to create something unrivaled in college athletics.  Designed by Multistudio and HNTB, Phase 1 of the new district and stadium opened in 2025 just in time for football season, followed soon after by The University of Kansas Conference Center. This past May, we celebrated the topping out of Phase 2, marking another major milestone in the Gateway District development.  We are grateful to The University of Kansas, HNTB, Edgemoor, Sunflower Development Group, Clark Construction Group, JE Dunn Construction, and countless others for making this vision a reality.     Rock Chalk!      #TogetherMultistudio 

"Nothing is off the table in the early stages of design – I encourage people to be fast, loose, and analog," shared Senior Designer Joey Gamblin. "I believe the best way to home in on an idea is to quickly rule out as many things as possible."  In his third year at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design — University of Arkansas, Joey was introduced to the Latin phrase “verum ipsum factum,” which means “truth through making.” Now tattooed on his forearm, he considers it his mantra — a constant reminder of his belief that gaining knowledge is an experiential process, and through building, one achieves understanding. Check out the latest renderings of the Eisenhower Education Center, a new cross-curricular educational outreach hub supported by The Eisenhower Foundation. Featured in The Architect's Newspaper, the project creates a new destination for learning and engagement at the Eisenhower Presidential Library campus in Abilene, Kansas. Expected to open in summer 2027, the center will feature flexible learning environments designed to support virtual and in-person programming for K–12 students nationwide, connecting students with history and civic education in new ways. 🔗 Read the full article at the link in comments.   #TogetherMultistudio 

The San Francisco Chronicle recently covered the opening of Mission Bay’s new school, a major investment in a neighborhood transforming from an industrial district into a growing community for families. “This neighborhood is on the rise, and a new school is exactly the kind of investment that will help families put down roots here,” said San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉. The Lenexa Old Town Activity Center campus has served its community for over 40 years and is home to a wide range of recreational programs, community events, and rental spaces. The San Francisco Unified School District celebrated a ribbon cutting for Mission Bay School last week, commemorating the completion of a project two decades in the making.  Mission Bay School was a pioneering project for SFUSD to address a gap in the neighborhood's elementary school options and provide a model for more flexible, project-based learning across the district.  As Bridging Architect, Multistudio provided design leadership, community engagement, visioning and bridging documentation, and continued to support SFUSD throughout the design-build process in coordination with the team led by McCarthy Builders and DLR Group.  Multistudio's Ian Colburn, Yuan Liang, and Amy Nicholson RA, RIBA, attended the ribbon cutting and tour of the new school, which will welcome students on the first day of the 2026 school year. 🔗 Read more at the link in comments.   ��: SFUSD #TogetherMultistudio
