On Friday, August 14th, we celebrated the close of another incredible internship program. Looking back two weeks later, we're still reflecting on just how far this cohort came! Over the course of the summer, our interns didn't just complete projects - they built real skills, took on real responsibility, and showed the kind of growth that comes from being trusted to do meaningful work. Investing in the next generation of talent is core to what we do — and moments like this are a reminder of why that investment matters. We're proud of this group and excited to see where their next steps take them. Congratulations to all of our summer interns and thank you to TruStage for all your support for Maydm! Thank you to all the supporters, friends, donors, and students that came to support Maydm on this incredible day of celebration! Enjoy this event highlight! 💜

Selfies, smiles, and plenty of moments worth celebrating! Our 2026 Internship Celebration was a chance for Maydm interns, alumni, community partners, and leaders to come together, catch up, and enjoy the day. From familiar faces to new connections, we loved seeing our community come together. As we continue working toward reaching more youth and doing MORE in our communities, we’re excited to bring even more people into that vision. Thank you once again to everyone who joined us and helped make the celebration such a special day!

A few more moments from our 2026 Internship Celebration, made possible by the organizations and supporters who invested in our interns this summer! From providing internship opportunities to sharing their time, knowledge, and resources, our partners played an important role in helping interns gain hands-on experience and connect with professionals across different industries. We’re grateful to the organizations that continue to support this work: City of Sun Prairie, HNTB, First Business Bank, Catalent, Promega Corporation, HealthHope, Type One Energy, Madison Gas and Electric Thank you for your continued support of our interns and for helping create opportunities for them to explore their interests, develop their skills, and gain valuable experience. We’re grateful to have you as part of this work and look forward to continuing these partnerships.

The 2026 Internship Celebration was one for the books! We gathered to honor an incredible cohort of interns whose energy, curiosity, and hard work made this summer unforgettable. The celebration featured live music from Divine Majesty, inspiring remarks from Dr. Shakkiah M. Curtis, DBA and the President of TruStage Foundation, and a room full of possibility. A huge thank you to TruStage and Kate Austin Stanford, CUDE for generously donating the event space, and to Lennise O'Dwyer - Maydm's Programs Coordinator and asia pfeifer - Maydm's Workforce Development Manager for their leadership in bringing this celebration to life. We also proudly announced two exciting initiatives shaping our future: the MORE Campaign and our new AI Tech Hub Institute: both designed to expand opportunity and prepare the next generation for careers in tech. To our interns: thank you for your talent and dedication. This is just the beginning.

As our Future Focused Session 2 students wrap up their final week, they finished off the program by designing, building, and launching their own rockets. This hands-on activity brought together everything they've learned throughout the session, from creating paper airplanes to launching rockets outside. We are so proud of the effort and creativity these students brought! #FutureFocused2 #RocketLaunch #YouthinSTEM #DiversityinSTEM

As our summer internship program comes to a close, our Maydm interns wrapped up their final Maydm Friday with an inspiring panel led by the team at Realta Fusion. Interns had the opportunity to learn about the innovative projects underway at Realta Fusion, as well as the career paths that led these accomplished women to their current roles. The panel offered valuable insight and encouragement on navigating career opportunities and advocating for oneself in the workplace. This session also gave interns a chance to run through their final presentations, which they'll deliver at our upcoming Internship Celebration this Friday! We are so excited to showcase what our interns have been up to this summer! Thank you Realta Fusion for such an engaging panel!

We are so proud of you Zaida! Keep up the great work!
It's #NationalInternDay, so we thought it would be the perfect time to share Zaida's staff spotlight! 🎉 Zaida is our first-ever intern through Maydm, a local organization that introduces girls and youth of color to STEM fields. Since joining CARPC this summer, she's been working on water quality planning projects and has especially enjoyed learning GIS, getting out in the field for road-stream crossing work, and learning from the CARPC team. Staff trivia: Outside of work, Zaida enjoys spending time in nature, creating art, organizing community music events—and even fronts a band with her friends! 🎸 Meet Zaida: bit.ly/meetzaida

Yesterday students from the Creators Lab Program and Future Focused took a trip over to PSE | Engineers & Consultants for an interactive, informational, and fun field trip! Students were able to engage in fun hands on activities at PSE. Maydm students participated in two activities related to solar panel installation and GPS tracking systems. Through two representatives elected by the president of PSE Erik S. Sonju, they were also able to make direct recommendations about the future of solar energy! A fun day filled with math, science, the outdoors, and the future of STEM. Thank you PSE for an awesome day!
