  • LA friends! Check out these open roles.

Edited to add: We're covered on Cinematic Visualization artists - still crewing for others as listed below. Thanks for the tags and pms, trying to get back to you all! We’re ramping up FAST here at Magnopus for a couple of exciting projects, and we’re looking for some seriously talented folks to join us. If you’re an Unreal or AI wizard (or some combination of the two), take a look at the openings here: https://lnkd.in/gNBrXY4V Our immediate needs: UE Tech Artist (way under the hood with UE) UE Cinematic Visualization — camera layout / previs UE Generalists — lighting / lookdev / environments AI Artists — storytelling / prompting AI Tech Artists — building tools to support storytelling A couple of important notes: these roles require US work authorization without sponsorship and an onsite presence in LA, so we’re specifically looking for LA locals. If this sounds like you—or someone you know—drop a comment, send me a DM, or pass this along. We’d love to meet you! Come make some cool stuff with us. 😎 Photo by Daniel Cheung on Unsplash

So proud to see this Emmy-nominated. Good luck team - fingers crossed!🤞

The final phase of Emmy voting is now open until Wednesday, August 26 and The World of Fallout is on the ballot in the Emerging Media category. We broke the fourth wall, pulled back the curtain, and invited fans into the wasteland itself not as viewers but as explorers. We took high-fidelity Unreal assets, optimized them and recreated 3D environments into a fully explorable wasteland with no Pip-Boy required. If you've ever wanted to snoop the Vault, poke around the Caswennan airship, or Mr. House's penthouse this was that experience. Dylan Hoop Jocelyn Birsch Eugenia Chung Melanie Zarzur Magnopus Nick Frontiera Heather Breedlove (McClure) Eóin Waxel Tom Barlow Ivone Alexandre War never changes, but your vote just might. ☢️ https://lnkd.in/gBVczqUp https://lnkd.in/gNcHjbka #Emmys #EmergingMedia #Fallout #TheWorldOfFallout #PrimeVideo

  • What if you could see music? For the Daft Punk Experience in Fortnite, we didn't just use music to inspire the visuals. We used math to visualise the music. For one scene in Contact, the chord progression was transcribed, the notes converted into frequencies and encoded into the visuals, so as you flew through space, you were literally seeing the music in front of you. In this Unreal Fest Chicago talk, our Audiovisual Designer & Creative Director Addison Herr breaks down how he used the connection between music and math to shape the experience. 🎵➗ Watch it here: https://lnkd.in/eQYf2df7 #Niagara #Sequencer #UnrealEngine

  • Meet Dean, who keeps our IT ops running smoothly in the UK! From high school LAN parties in Durban, South Africa, to fast-tracking his IT diploma and certifications, Dean’s passion for tech has always driven his career. Having managed IT support across everything from print presses and national newspapers to architectural firms, Dean immigrated to the UK during the pandemic and joined Magnopus as a Junior Administrator – now he leads our UK team! In our latest spotlight, Dean shares why he views setbacks as long-term opportunities for growth, his philosophy on never wasting a chance to learn, and how he’s somehow managed to clock 16,000+ hours in ARK and break his legs more times than he actually has them! 🦵🎮 Read the full Q&A here: https://lnkd.in/e3HFzQ9S

  • Meet Melanie, a Product Manager at Magnopus 👋 They say the best product managers know how to wear many hats, and for Melanie, navigating fast-paced projects requires three essential skills: critical thinking, a positive attitude, and a love for continuous learning. Instead of backing down from challenges, she treats every hurdle as a valuable lesson to help her team move forward. Outside of managing complex projects, she channels her focus into running, cycling, studying French, and a deep appreciation for the world around her. Check out the full Q&A to learn more about Melanie, including why she’s an expert at spotting constellations in the night sky! ✨ https://lnkd.in/exFdjUXY

  • How do you bring the real world into a virtual space without making things incredibly complicated? When you pull massive global datasets (like Google Earth) into a 3D environment, traditional "globe-first" rendering usually breaks your coordinate systems. In our latest technical deep dive, specialist web engineer James Edgeworth explains how we solved this for OKO by turning the problem upside down, literally. 🙃 By shifting to a "scene-first" approach, we moved the globe to sit beneath our scene, rather than forcing everything to adapt to the globe. The result? We unlocked 1:1 real-world scaling across Web, Unity, and Unreal Engine without breaking existing multiplayer workflows. It also opens up some interesting future possibilities. Because the globe is now just another asset in the space, developers can easily mash up multiple real-world locations side-by-side – like dropping the Eiffel Tower right next to Big Ben with minimal code. • Meet Gabe Blake! As a Producer at Magnopus, he’s learned that keeping a complex project on track takes a lot more than just staring at budgets and timelines. It takes a team that truly believes in what they're building. When asked about how he keeps people motivated when things get tough, Gabe put it perfectly: "In my experience, the teams that persevere and maintain their grit typically do so because they share a belief in a vision that is exciting, important, and worthy of pursuit. It’s why at Magnopus we’re constantly aiming for the stars." Instead of managing through rigid metrics, Gabe focuses on building trust, removing roadblocks, and making sure everyone understands the bigger picture – creating an environment where people feel supported enough to do their best work. When traditional rendering taps out at two million Gaussian splats, what do you do? If you're our Director of Technology, Sam Birley, you build a custom instanced renderer in Unreal. In this latest article, Sam documents his journey behind building arguably the fastest Gaussian splat renderer for #Unreal available today. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the R&D process: from the missteps to a packing strategy that saves 55% memory on each splat! 💫 If you want to render an unbounded number of splats and build highly accurate digital environments in OKO – our spatial intelligence platform – learn from Sam's trials and triumphs. 👀 https://lnkd.in/ezmjsctY #Gaussiansplats
