The 2026 PBS Annual Meeting in Austin was awesome! I was invited to present with my brilliant team member, Mercedes M. Brown of KERA, Kevin C. from WKAR, and Laura Hinrichsen of AGP thanks to the indomitable Jen Newmeyer, CFRE from PBS. We spoke about digital ads. Attendees said the session was helpful, packed with information, and efficient. One attendee even said it was the “best session of the conference,” which was high praise given that we were in the last slot on the schedule!♥️ I learned new strategies and got a sneak peek at upcoming PBS shows! If you don’t already have Passport, donate to your local station now. There’s too much great content to be missing out. I’m so thankful for all #PBS has given to me, my children, my community, and the world. #pbsannualmeeting PBS KERA – North Texas Public Broadcasting

Afterward, KERA Arts reporter Marcheta Fornoff and KERA Senior Video Producer Christian Vasquez sat down for a conversation with Dallas artist Antonio Lechuga. Antonio, one of the artists profiled in an Arts Docs film, talked about his experience working with KERA on the series. Christian shared about the values he hopes the series serves through its tone and curation.

We’re still energized from our School Zone Book Club meeting this past Tuesday! Our community partners came together to dive into the second section of The Power of Moments by Chip and Dan Heath, and the conversation was thoughtful, engaging, and full of great insights. From reflecting on powerful moments in our work to participating in hands-on activities, it was a meaningful time of learning and connection. We hope our partners at KERA – North Texas Public Broadcasting and Dallas Afterschool enjoyed the conversation and activities as much as we did. Your perspectives always make these discussions richer! A special shoutout to our very own Jessica Murillo M. Ed. ² for leading such an amazing and engaging session. Thank you for guiding us through a powerful discussion and helping us bring the ideas from the book to life! 👏 #SMU #CommunityEngagement #Partnership
