Personalized learning public schools in St. Louis. Empowering students to direct their own lives and learning.

About us

Kairos believes that to prepare students for life after K-12, our schools need to simulate college and career. Instead of "behavior managers" in a traditional classroom, students need to practice managing themselves in a project-based environment that requires not just academic but organizational, social, and emotional skills as well. We personalize learning in St. Louis, cultivating not just freethinkers ready to navigate the Information Age economy, but American citizens, ready to govern themselves and their communities.

  • The middle school years are when kids decide whether school is something that happens to them — or something they're a part of. At Kairos Academies, we're fighting for the latter. Every day. We're hiring educators and culture-builders for our Middle School who believe that 5th-8th graders are capable of far more than they're typically given credit for — and who are ready to build the kind of classroom, the kind of relationships, and the kind of community that proves it. Whether you're a History teacher who brings social studies to life through real-world inquiry, a Math or Science teacher who makes rigor feel like an invitation rather than a barrier, or a Restorative Justice Coordinator who understands that accountability and belonging aren't opposites — there's a place for you here. What you'll find at Kairos: ✅ Starting teacher salaries of $60K–$80K — among the highest in St. Louis ✅ Nine weeks of paid parental leave ✅ A culture grounded in Love, Excellence, Agency, and Diversity ✅ Recognition from Forbes, Bellwether, NBC Today, and Education Week ✅ A team that will push you — and have your back This isn't the right fit if you want things to stay the same. But if you're someone who seeks feedback, moves with urgency, and believes every student deserves a teacher who refuses to give up on them — we'd love to meet you. • Kairos Academies High School is hiring — and we're looking for educators who are done settling for "fine." We believe the kairos — the right moment — to reimagine public education is now. That looks like one-on-one mentoring, relevant real-world experiences, and a school community where teachers are treated as the leaders they are. If you're a high-performing educator who thrives on feedback, moves fast, and wants your work to matter beyond the classroom, we want to talk. What makes Kairos different: ✅ Starting salaries of $60K–$80K — among the highest in St. Louis ✅ Nine weeks of paid parental leave ✅ A culture built on Love, Excellence, Agency, and Diversity ✅ Recognition from Forbes, Bellwether, NBC Today, and Education Week ✅ Real career pathways for students — and for you We're not looking for people who want to coast. We're looking for people who seek feedback, embrace change, and go above and beyond because they believe kids deserve nothing less. • Some moments don't just pass — they stay with you. The last day of school. A senior bonfire glowing into the night. The first-ever Kairos graduation. These are the moments that make us who we are — and now, thanks to the students behind Kraken News Network and yearbook, they're preserved forever in This Is Kairos: a living visual archive of the people, memories, and community that make this school something rare. This is what student-led storytelling looks like. This is what it means to see your school through the eyes of the people who love it most. • Of course graduation marks the conclusion of our students’ high school journey. But for us, it’s much bigger than that. It’s the beginning of the rest of their lives. A journey they’ve designed and planned for themselves with the help of their mentors and families. As our very first class of Krakens enters the world as adults, we’re humbled by their tenacity, leadership, and desire to build something meaningful. From our very first day of school in 2019 to today, we’ve grown stronger. We built a new path as we walked it together—and that is no small feat. To our Krakens on your graduation day: we’re so proud of you—where you’ve been, what you’ve built, and what you’re going to do next. From WashU to Mizzou, from Morehouse to trade school, from the apprenticeship to the armed services—you’ve got the tools for greatness and we have all the confidence in the world you’re ready for what’s next. ❤️ —- Your child’s journey to a life filled with choice begins at Kairos. Explore grades 5-12 at https://lnkd.in/gyhE_RwW and apply today. Kairos is free, public, and open to every St. Louis family.

  • Seven years ago, Kairos opened its doors with a bold belief: St. Louis students deserve a school experience built around relationships, purpose, opportunity, and belonging. This Sunday, that vision reaches a historic milestone. Join us LIVE as we celebrate the graduation of the Kairos Class of 2026 — our very first graduating class. 🎓 From nervous first days in 2019 to internships, capstones, college acceptances, performances, leadership opportunities, and lifelong friendships, these students have helped shape what Kairos has become. They didn’t just attend Kairos. They built it. We know there are friends, family members, mentors, and supporters cheering these graduates on from near and far, and we’re excited to make this moment accessible to everyone who has been part of the journey. 📅 Sunday, May 24 ⏰ Livestream begins at 2:30 PM 🔗 Watch live: https://lnkd.in/gM9jQ7P4 This is more than a graduation ceremony. It’s the celebration of seven years of growth, perseverance, community, and possibility. Let’s celebrate together. 💙 #stl #stlmade #schoolappstl #graduation2026 #IChoseKairos

  • At Kairos, we don’t ask students to simply dream about the future–we challenge them to plan for it! 💡🎓 This week, our seniors showcased their next steps at Decision Day, sharing the concrete plans they’ve built for life after graduation. From trade school and apprenticeships to military service, community college, and four-year universities, every table told a different story of purpose, ambition, and possibility. Even better? Younger Kairos students had the chance to ask questions, hear firsthand why seniors chose their paths, and start thinking about their own futures. That’s what Kairos is all about: ensuring every graduate leaves with a meaningful next step aligned to their life, education, and income goals. And this Sunday, we’ll celebrate the next big milestone as the Kairos Class of 2026 walks across the stage for graduation. 🎉 #IChoseKairos #decisionday #stl #schoolappstl #hsgrad

What does it look like when the school experience is built around relationships, agency, and purpose? It looks like Kairos Academies. It looks like students learning to lead, advocate for themselves, dream boldly, and chart a path that's uniquely their own. Rooted and Rising tells the story of a school community growing alongside its students–from nervous first days in middle school to college acceptance letters, capstone projects, internships, mentorship, and life-changing opportunities. At Kairos, success has never looked just one way. It looks like students discovering who they are, what they care about, and how they want to impact the world around them. The best part is that success is open to all. If you know a 5th-12th grader in St. Louis who's looking to dream boldly, send their family our way. Let's build a plan to reach their dreams together. #stlmade #stl Missouri Charter Public School Association https://lnkd.in/euBrnKwv
