Recently, Journal Technologies brought together our Canadian clients for a full day of collaboration, discussion, and presentations — powered in part by caffeine from Calgary’s own Rosso Coffee Roasters. More than 30 court professionals joined us both in person and online, sharing valuable insight into the unique priorities and evolving needs of Canadian court case management. This gathering marked the first of what will become a regular forum for the growing community of Canadian courts using Journal’s eSeries software. Journal is proud to support the important modernization efforts happening in courts across Canada’s provinces and territories. Interested in learning more about what Journal is doing in Canada? The Utah Prosecution Council has an interesting business model: using grant funds, they provide case management software and training to prosecutors across the state that opt in. Of course, finding the right balance between consistency and configurability throughout Utah is quite the challenge. When their organization chose to implement eProsecutor, building a platform that would work for different agencies was key. Ronald Weight is the IT Director for the Utah Prosecution Council, and he says cost efficiency is one reason for the system's rapid adoption. With 40+ of their agencies now operating on eProsecutor, in his words, "they can get it for a bargain." It's no secret: the most successful organizations consistently improve their processes and look for ways to operate more efficiently. Connecticut's Board of Pardons and Paroles is a perfect example. Tara Brooks and her team partnered with Journal Technologies to implement just the second web-based pardon system in the country. The results have been transformative: - Applications processed annually jumped from 1.4k to nearly 2.2k - Accurate submissions increased by 30% - A 2-year backlog was reduced to just 6 months By embracing digital workflows and automation, the Board of Pardons and Paroles is changing the way they serve the public. As our 2025 User Conference draws to a close, we’re extremely grateful to everyone who attended the conference and made it so successful. Day two began with some amazing presentations from our customers, and the rest of the day included sessions on business rules, accessibility, driving system adoption, and much more. This was our first post-pandemic user conference, and we couldn’t have done it without the enthusiastic support of our customers and partners. To everyone who joined us in Los Angeles this week, thank you – we’ll see you next time.
