National Infertility Awareness Week is a reminder that awareness alone isn’t enough. The real conversation is about access: how do people plan for care, understand costs, and feel protected along the way? When access is tied to cost, too many are forced to pause or walk away earlier than they’d planned. Our Founder & CEO, Angela Rastegar, recently joined Lora Shahine, MD, FACOG on the Brave and Curious podcast to help bring this into the open, because that’s where real change starts. What’s one change you’ve seen (or would like to see) that could make fertility care more accessible?
Financial access determines who gets to have a baby. That’s the part of fertility care no one wants to say out loud. During National Infertility Awareness Week, we talk a lot about awareness. But the real barrier isn’t awareness; it’s affordability. IVF isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a series of financial bets. Most people don’t stop because they’re ready. They stop because they run out of money. That’s not a medical outcome. That’s a system failure. I talked about this on today's Brave and Curious podcast with Dr. Lora Shahine, MD, FACOG: how fertility in the U.S. isn’t just a healthcare issue, it’s a financial one. Improving access is my life's work, and we go deep on my story and my desire to improve things, with predictable costs and more support. If we want to change outcomes, we have to change access. What’s the one change we’re overlooking when it comes to improving fertility access? #NIAW #fertility

Fertility care isn’t just about treatment - it’s about timing. As 1 in 5 people in the U.S. face fertility challenges, the need for earlier, more proactive options like egg freezing has never been clearer. And yet, we still expect individuals to navigate biological timelines, career decisions, and rising costs... largely on their own. This National Infertility Awareness Week, we’re reframing the conversation: fertility preservation isn’t a “nice-to-have” benefit. It’s foundational infrastructure. At Sunfish, our Egg Freezing Success Program is designed to bring clarity to that decision, with flat fee bundled pricing, built-in financial protection, and personalized guidance so you can plan on your terms, not under pressure. Read what Sunfish founder and CEO Angela Rastegar had to say in Fast Company: https://lnkd.in/e8FynguH
Fertility should be the new 401(k). Think about it: We don’t expect employees to fund their entire retirement out of a checking account. We don’t expect them to navigate the mortgage market without infrastructure. Yet, we ask families to manage: → Biological timelines → Peak career years → Six-figure medical costs ...all with almost zero structural support. In my latest op-ed for Fast Company, I explore how the U.S. is unique in how fragmented our fertility access is. As benefits are being cut in some sectors, we are creating a massive barrier to talent and population growth. We treat fertility like a niche health issue. It’s actually a macro-economic necessity. Is your company treating fertility as a "perk" or as infrastructure? Let’s discuss in the comments. Full article below. 👇 #HumanResources #Benefits #Economy #FastCompany
