Just like Quantum -- the Countdown is ON! Only one week to go for the Vanderbilt Quantum Forum in Nashville -- a full-day deep-dive into the foundations, issues, and ongoing delivery of the varied aspects of Quantum technology. From basic building blocks of quantum theory to how quantum computing is being used today in applications that solve problems too complex for classical computing. IonQ is a proud sponsor of this important milestone in building quantum awareness across Tennessee, a state supporting the growth of a dynamic quantum ecosystem for the benefit of its communities, businesses, academic institutions, and other stakeholders. IonQ quantum researchers and experts sharing their knowledge at the Quantum Forum are Nora Bauer, Ryan Harring, Corey McClelland, Joe Young, and Lamont Silves -- in sessions moderated by Vanderbilt's Doug Adams, and Quantum Coast Capital's Matthew Cimaglia and Hillary Matchett. Shoutout as well to Patrick Swingle of our partner in quantum EPB. Check out the full agenda at Vanderbilt Quantum Forum: https://lnkd.in/eZQZ-99S

New research from IonQ demonstrates a scalable path forward for quantum memory, an essential building block for quantum networking and distributed quantum computing. While classical computing has advanced through the ability to mass-produce tiny electronic components on individual silicon wafers, quantum technologies have faced challenges in producing high-performance quantum memories in parallel. This work led by Daniel Riedel and Bart Machielse introduces a new approach that integrates diamond-based quantum memories onto silicon wafers, enabling the parallel production of hundreds of devices with strong photon interactions and consistent performance. This approach advances scalable, manufacturable quantum hardware, supports more efficient quantum networking architectures, and connects quantum materials with established semiconductor processes. By combining diamond-based qubits with silicon platforms, this research helps lay the foundation for next-generation quantum systems. 🚀 Qollab’s creative challenge is back for Round 2 The first round of our Creative Challenge was a resounding success! We selected and funded a group of incredible submissions that prove quantum computing can be accessible, engaging, and dare we say.. fun. (see comments for direct links) Because of the overwhelming interest from talented creators who missed our first submission window, we are officially opening Round 2 in collaboration with IonQ. 🎨 The Challenge: We’re looking for playful, educational, or unexpected ways to engage with quantum: think interactive demos, generative art, or unique learning tools. 💰 The Rewards: Selected projects can receive up to $5,000 USD and $50,000 in IonQ compute credits to bring their vision to life. And for the first 3 entries that get funded, Matthew Keesan - IonQ’s VP and GM of Platform who will serve as an expert judge - has generously agreed to provide $20,000 credits for a total of $70,000 in credits. All funded teams will get weekly technical support from IonQ experts and the opportunity to connect virtually with IonQ’s executives and present their work. 📅 Deadline: Submit your ideas by April 7th, 2026. Whether you’re a developer, designer, educator, or artist, we want to help you build something that makes the world of quantum approachable for everyone.
