Your .env file is a liability. AI coding agents like Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot read every file in your project directory. They don't respect .gitignore. Secrets end up in chain-of-thought logs on infrastructure you don't control. The solution is straightforward: don't store secrets on disk.
