Shark finning is one of the most gruesome and cruel ways to treat an animal. Fishermen often slice the fins off a shark at sea, then discard the still-living mutilated animal back in the water to drown, bleed to death or be eaten alive by other fish. Fins from about 73 million sharks are traded on the global market each year.

More than 40 dogs and puppies are safe today because supporters like you stepped up when they needed help most. What began as a rescue from a suspected cruelty case is becoming a story of hope and healing. 🩵🐾

As rescue efforts continue, our disaster team is working to understand the impact on animals and communities and where our support may be needed.

While his past was marked by suffering, his future is filled with hope. 🩵 Meet Hampton, a young pup recently rescued by our team from a suspected cruelty situation. He and over 40 more dogs and puppies are now safe, surrounded by the expert care, comfort and love they deserve.

Our hearts break for all of those suffering from the violence and conflict in the West Bank region, including this donkey and all animals who are becoming victims alongside people.

Dogs on chains affixed to the ground were left standing in inches of stagnant water from recent rainfall. Their paws were inflamed—indicating these conditions had persisted for weeks—and they seemed to wince from pain, while tadpoles swam in the waste-contaminated water. Year after year, we have lobbied and litigated to end the horse slaughter trade, and year after year, we have made sure that congressional appropriations language is in place to prevent the BLM from selling horses in a manner that leads to their slaughter. It is impossible to make horse slaughter humane. It’s up to all of us to ensure that the administration hears our calls to action—it’s up to all of us to ensure that Congress makes this the last time America’s wild horses undergo the immense terror of suffering of transport and slaughter. https://lnkd.in/gqgW9Hbq
