  • Imagine opening your fridge and seeing… Cosmopolitan. Not the cocktail. The magazine. In the ’80s, Cosmopolitan made a surprising product bet: that brand recognition would translate to dairy sales. Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

  • We’re excited to host Cursor Curated Sydney, a hands-on evening where builders, designers, and curious makers will remix starter demos using AI-powered coding. The event is technically sold out, but you can still join the waitlist in case spots open up! If you’re curious about creative coding, AI-assisted development, or just want to see what happens when a room full of makers starts experimenting together, this one will be special. 👉 Join the waitlist: https://luma.com/t586tacc

  • What an amazing evening we had with Friends of Figma, Sydney, setting a record for the most people to attend an event at our office! A massive thank you to our speakers, Ben Conolly and Oscar Watson-Smith, for giving insightful talks that bridge software engineering and design, and to the Friends of Figma community for turning out in record numbers!

✨ Last night our community came together at Dovetail to explore what happens when the line between 𝗱𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲 starts to disappear (and the feedback loop gets very interesting) 🔁💻 Kicked off by Ben Conolly from Dovetail, who reminded us that mythical time-frugal developers might actually be the role model, spotting the repetitive work worth automating and saving time for the problems that matter most. From fuzzy scripts for fuzzy problems to using AI where rigid automation falls short, Ben showed how messy inputs can still lead to clear outputs ✨⚙️ Then Oscar Watson-Smith from Figma had the room buzzing with what code to canvas could really mean, taking ideas from code into Figma, refining them visually, then heading straight back into build 🎨➡️💻 And the conversation didn’t stop there, the Q&A opened up some great discussion on where these workflows are heading, what this means for teams, and just how quickly the handoff between design and engineering is evolving 💫🗣️ Thank you to Dovetail for hosting our community again and creating the perfect space for conversations at the intersection of design and engineering 🏡 And of course, a big thanks to our community who brought the energy ✨ and our volunteers for making the night what it was 🪄💜 #FriendsofFigma #FoFSydney #FoF_Sydney #DesignToCode #NothingGreatIsMadeAlone

  • That’s right, we’re everywhere 👀 Our ads have taken over Sydney in the same way Dovetail takes over the manual work of digging through countless hours of data just to find that key insight. Because when it comes to building great products, The best never guess. They turn customer conversations into actionable intelligence.

  • Free coffee + great engineers = a very full café ☕ We popped up at JIBBI Coffee Roasters last Thursday so software engineers could stop by and chat with some Dovetailers about the future of engineering. At a time when there’s been a lot of uncertainty in the tech market, it was refreshing to host a not-so-ordinary morning with engineers who are excited about what’s next. If you’re exploring what your next chapter might look like, or know someone who is, we’re hiring engineers at Dovetail: https://dvtl.link/4dkIUcn

  • Design and engineering have always been connected. Now, the loop between them is tightening fast. This Wednesday, we’re opening the Dovetail office to co-host an evening with Friends of Figma, Sydney, exploring the future of the design ↔ code workflow. You’ll hear from: 🎤 Ben Conolly, Senior Software Engineer at Dovetail Design to Code: Cutting Out the Busywork 🎤 Oscar Watson-Smith, Engineering at Figma Code to Canvas If you design, build, or collaborate across both, this one’s for you. 🎟️ Spots are limited, secure yours now: https://dvtl.link/4sC62HO
