To kick off our week at the Railway Interchange show, two of our leaders in our technology division got to speak to IRSE North American Section members about different Herzog innovations. Jim Hanlon, Senior VP of Product Development for the Herzog Technology division talked about our RailSentry system that uses lidar, cameras, statistical scenarios and PTC systems to warn trains about potential hazards at railroad crossings. While Bill Moss, Director of Signal System Testing talked with hardware/software supplier WAGO , together making our cutover trailer one of the most efficient cutover test solutions in the industry. Thank you to the Institution of Railway Signal Engineering for allowing us to speak to their members about the great things we are doing here at Herzog to make railway travel safer and more efficient.

Big news for California’s high‑speed rail future! 🎉 Today, the California High-Speed Rail Authority Board of Directors approved the first phase of the nation’s largest and only high‑speed rail track and systems installation effort — a major milestone on our path to delivering true high-speed rail. The American-led team of Kiewit, Stacy Witbeck, and Herzog will install the track, overhead contact system, train control and communications infrastructure needed to transform the 119 miles of guideway being completed in the Central Valley into an electrified high-speed rail system capable of speeds up to 220 mph. This is what it sounds like when an industry is ready to move. At the US High Speed Rail Association Annual Conference, the Track and Systems Construction session brought together some of the sharpest minds in the industry, and the takeaways were worth sharing. Keith Tarkalson, VP and High Speed Rail Project Director, put it plainly: 🎙️"If you get your logistics figured out, construction can then run smoothly." And Scott Norman, EVP at Herzog set the tone for where this industry is headed: 🎙️"We are on the doorstep of doing something great. Let's go and do it." The momentum behind American high-speed rail is real, the people building it are ready, and the work ahead is worth showing up for. #webuildcoolstuff 💪
