Our Campus Services, Facilities Maintenance Operations (FMO) Unit is hiring an experienced, licensed Fire Mechanic. This role requires a specifically trained mechanic skilled in fire safety equipment and related components. The Fire Mechanic will be responsible for: 1. Performing all required installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing of life safety equipment in accordance with applicable standards and requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the Massachusetts State Building Life Safety Codes and/or established compliance requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction. 2. Interpreting and updating mechanical plans, drawings, and prints as necessary. 3. Assisting and advising customers on the progress and status of work, providing responsive and effective customer support in all phases of Facilities Services and building maintenance operations, including advising customers on maintenance solutions and providing follow-up on progress and status of work. The Compliance Specialist supports audit, compliance, and financial oversight activities within OSP, with a primary focus on sponsored research administration. Reporting to the Director, Cost Analysis and Compliance, this position is responsible for coordinating and supporting sponsored audits and third-party reviews, including the Annual Single Audit, and serves as a key liaison between OSP, Harvard schools and departments, and external auditors. The Compliance Specialist manages audit timelines, facilitates information requests, monitors progress, and helps ensure the timely and accurate completion of audit deliverables.
