🚨 The clock is ticking on copper POTS lines… and the FCC just sped it up. On March 26, 2026, the Federal Communications Commission unanimously approved an order that accelerates the retirement of copper-based POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service)—and the impact on businesses is real. Here’s what you need to know 👇 📉 POTS is being phased out—faster than expected... Carriers can now “grandfather” existing lines (temporarily), but: No new POTS lines will be sold. Relocations may be denied. Shutdown timelines are shortening. 💸 Costs are rising—and will keep rising... Double-digit price increases are becoming the norm, turning POTS into an unpredictable and expensive liability. ⚠️ “Grandfathered” ≠ safe... It simply means temporary.
