Elkhart Virtual School Orientations are underway this week for the Elkhart Virtual School (EVS), offering families across our area and across Indiana a flexible, tuition-free education option for grades 6–12. EVS delivers an asynchronous learning environment that allows students to progress at their own pace while maintaining access to 400+ classes, Indiana Licensed Teachers, dedicated local support, and pathways aligned with the Elkhart Promise. Our buses are officially getting ready to hit the roads for the start of the school year on Thursday, August 13th! 🚌 This week, our Transportation team gathered for a productive kickoff focused on operational efficiency, updated route planning, and high-level alignment across the district. TJ Spencer, Director of Transportation Operations, hosted a comprehensive session featuring key leadership and state partners, including representatives from the Indiana State Police (ISP), the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE), our Superintendent Riise, and our district administrative team. With a fully energized department, our drivers are ready to support our schools, students, and community. We are deeply grateful for our dedicated transportation team and their essential role in powering our district’s mission every single day.
