Today, we’re so proud to share that Eat Real has received a $3 million, three-year investment from Dohmen Company Foundation to transform K-12 school food nationwide. This is the largest investment in our history — and it comes at a pivotal moment. 30 million children rely on school meals for half of their daily calories. For some, it’s all of them. By making each of these meals more nutritious and delicious, we can fight the rise in ultra-processed food-related illnesses, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and fatty liver disease in kids. Together with Dohmen Company Foundation, a private foundation guided by a vision of life without diet-related disease, we will: • Expand Eat Real’s data-driven K-12 certification program nationwide • Reach an additional 1 million students • Launch new research examining how improved school nutrition impacts behavior, mental health, and metabolic health • Deepen our work in high-need states and large districts We share a bold goal: to eradicate diet-related disease — and we believe America’s public schools are the most powerful place to start. This partnership is about more than food. It’s about measurable change in children’s health, well-being, and futures.
