Updates

  • This summer we’ll be working with a small group of university faculty from schools including Case Western Reserve University, Cuyahoga Community College, and Kent State University as part of a pilot program called University Fellows. They’ll spend the week in the galleries exploring how teaching with art can show up in their work, and how art fits into the way they teach. We are excited to welcome these individuals to the museum this summer. Stay tuned for more updates about this program!

  • Today, we celebrate 110 years of commitment to creating transformative experiences through art “for the benefit of all the people forever.” A special thank-you to our CMA community who makes it all possible. Here’s to another great year. Happy Birthday, CMA! 🎂

  • "The museum is the cultural anchor for Cleveland. For a city that has navigated decades of economic change, the CMA represents a form of civic permanence — a world-class institution that has remained rooted in and committed to its community across 11 decades." - Cleveland Magazine This guiding principle has been central to the Cleveland Museum of Art, especially as we head into our 110th birthday tomorrow. We are excited to welcome our community to join us at the museum to celebrate, with perks including free admission to our current ticketed exhibitions. Join us tomorrow, and read more about our birthday at the link below. Thank you, Cleveland Magazine, for the coverage! 🔗 https://bit.ly/3PNqVSO

  • Édouard Manet and Berthe Morisot were more than just artistic colleagues. During the 1870s and 1880s, what began as a relationship rooted in exploration and discovery, evolved into one of mutual inspiration and ultimately to one of family. Carrie Wise and Jean-Marie Papoi dive deep in an interview with Heather Lemonedes Brown, Paul J. and Edith Ingalls Vignos Jr. Curator of Modern European Art, discussing the evolving influences and lasting impressions of this exhibition. Read the full piece below, and see "Manet & Morisot" now through July 5. 🔗: https://bit.ly/4fP0UwP Ideastream Public Media
