For young people, whose brains are still developing, the impact can be even greater. Last week, I had the opportunity to join Elliott Rapaport in Washington, D.C., where The Birches Health Team met with Patrick Kennedy and the FDPS team for an important discussion on the evolving addiction landscape in the United States. As legalized gambling and sports betting continue to expand at a rapid pace nationwide, so do the associated risks. We discussed the significant growth in gambling-related harm, the gaps that still exist in access to specialized treatment, and the urgent need for scalable, clinically rigorous solutions. At Birches, we are focused on delivering outcomes-driven care specifically designed to treat gambling addiction — with accountability, accessibility, and measurable results at the core. We also explored the parallel rise of digital addiction and the broader implications for behavioral health. There is a clear opportunity — and responsibility — for providers to lead with clinically grounded, evidence-based models that set a higher standard for care. Birches is committed to helping define that standard and leading the market with a structured, outcomes-based approach.
