Real community impact! 🦾👉 Thanks to Avangrid volunteers in Goldendale, Washington, who recently spent part of their Saturday helping prepare the local community pool for summer. Avangrid staff (along with some of their family members) recently helped take down the dome covering the Central Klickitat County Parks and Recreation District pool. It wasn’t easy, but thanks to all of the help this year, we’re told the dome came down in record time! Just another way Avangrid gives back to the communities where we operate.

✅ Construction completed ✅ Connected to the grid Our newest solar project is installed and producing electricity in Oregon. Tower Solar has a capacity of 166 MWdc and uses more than 250,000 U.S.-assembled solar panels. It's a major investment in our American energy infrastructure, supporting growing electricity demand across the Pacific Northwest while creating approximately 200 local construction jobs. The project will also contribute an estimated $20 million in local taxes and payments to support community services like education. "As demand for electricity continues to grow across the United States and in the Pacific Northwest, projects like Tower Solar are essential to delivering new generation at scale,” said Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda. “Furthermore, this project demonstrates how investment in America���s electrical infrastructure contributes to our domestic economy, supports union workers, and delivers reliable electricity to support the region’s growth.” Read more: https://ow.ly/w7Ye50Z6MQN

ICYMI: The Avangrid Foundation is proud to be part of an amazing waterfront rejuvenation project happening in Bridgeport, Connecticut. As part of a $100,000 grant to the Trust for Public Land, we're contributing to the Bridgeport Seawalk project, an effort to create a 20-mile walking path and recreation areas on the city's waterfront, connecting tens of thousands of people to the Long Island Sound. A cornerstone of that project will be the "Sliver by the River," a refurbishing of a neglected 3-acre vacant lot as a thriving native salt marsh with a kayak launch and dock. The park will provide space for people to get outside, curtail flooding, minimize storm water runoff, rejuvenate the Pequannock River, and serve as an educational platform for those eager to discover nature’s wonders, right in an urban environment in downtown Bridgeport. BIG NEWS in Washington ➡️➡️ Avangrid has executed a power purchase agreement with Microsoft for a new 140 MW solar project! ☀️🔌 Called Bluebird Solar, the 140 MWdc project will be located in in Klickitat County, Washington, and represents another $300 million investment by Avangrid in the community, including 300 construction jobs and $11 million in property taxes. With the addition of Bluebird, Avangrid and Microsoft now have more than 500 MW of energy capacity under contract across four projects in the United States. “Bluebird Solar builds on our longstanding commitment to energy development and operations in Washington, bringing meaningful economic benefits to Klickitat County. We are proud to have built a strong relationship with Microsoft to help them meet their energy needs while investing in the communities where we operate,” said Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda. Avangrid recently awarded its annual $5,000 STEM Scholarship to Natalie Flynn, a graduating senior from Fieldcrest High School in Minonk, Illinois. Natalie plans to pursue a career in medical research. This scholarship is an example of our ongoing commitment to empowering students and investing in the future of communities where we operate.
