It’s Global Recycling Day, and we’re celebrating the power of the aluminum can. At Arconic, we transform used beverage cans (UBCs) into new can sheet—proving that waste can become value again… and again…and again. · UBCs are a powerhouse of sustainability. When UBCs are collected for recycling, they become a new can in less than 60 days. · Recycling – like making new can sheet from UBCs – uses only 5% of the energy that it would take to produce new primary aluminum from raw materials.   · In 2025, our Tennessee Operations consumed approximately 6.5 billion UBCs. This helps reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. By recycling your cans, you’re helping close the loop and building a healthier planet. Arconic Davenport Works held a ceremonial groundbreaking for its new $175 million state-of-the-art Casthouse Expansion (Pit 10), which will expand aluminum ingot casting capacity, increase recycling of scrap aluminum, improve energy efficiency, and drive more domestic manufacturing.   The Pit 10 project will create 40 new jobs at the site.
