We've added a new panelist! Welcome Alena Solonina to Earth Summit on April 8th! Progress on climate doesn't happen in a vacuum—it requires navigating competing priorities, building unlikely partnerships, and making difficult tradeoffs. Shanti Rao brings together leaders from water infrastructure, corporate sustainability, and climate science to discuss the real compromises behind meaningful action: balancing immediate needs with long-term goals, aligning incentives across sectors, and deciding what's worth fighting for when perfection isn't an option.

April 8th! Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we understand and respond to climate challenges—from satellite imagery analysis that tracks environmental change in real time, to predictive models that optimize energy systems, to tools that help organizations measure and reduce their carbon footprint. This panel brings together practitioners deploying AI across climate applications to discuss what's actually working, where the technology shows the most promise, and what the limitations are. Expect an honest conversation about AI's role in California's climate future: the breakthroughs, the hype, and the hard technical problems still to solve. Satellite monitoring has the potential to observe all wildfires on the globe. But how do you make that capability real, and make that information actionable? Come see Max Joshua present FireSat on April 8th: a case study in how advanced technology was co-developed and deployed in concert with the firefighters, scientists and communities who will actually use it, to transform humanity’s approach to managing wildfires.

Fantastic panel discussion and networking event held by AI LA in Venice last night! The topic was "Building AI Capability in the Organization" and the panelists were Cassie Campbell, Jason Baer, and Mariena Quintanilla. The conversation was particularly relevant as today companies adopting AI at different speeds; AI adoption is important and must be done in a thoughtful way. These speakers laid out what successful AI adoption looks like in their organizations. Another great event put on by the team at AI LA. It was my honor to meet someone behind the programming there Katie Guernsey. I also met some engineers at LA's hottest startup, Plug.

Huge congrats to the team behind AlphaPersuade! Today was a very insightful take on AI- one that humanizes the development, cautions us on the public discourse and reminds us that this technology is ultimately borne from the judgement and bias of humans.
With less than a week to go, we want to say a big thanks to our sponsors! Today, a big shout out to AI LA, who's been a partner since our inaugural summit in 2024. They continue to advance the AI ecosystem in LA and #SoCal. https://www.joinai.la/ #ai #losangeles #alphapersuade #tech #events

This inaugural session couldn't be more timely. Senator Blackburn's TRUMP AMERICA AI Act dropped March 18th, California has 20+ AI bills in session, and the fight over who gets to regulate AI — the federal government or the states — is happening right now. We're skipping the headlines and going straight to consequences. Come join us on April 16th at a new venue: Blankspaces Downtown SM. Joshua R.
