About us
AESC, founded in Japan in 2007, is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for zero-emission electric vehicles and energy storage systems. AESC is expanding its footprint in the United States with gigafactories in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee to meet the growing demand for EV and BESS batteries and strengthen its presence in the North American market. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational and supplying electric vehicle batteries for the Nissan LEAF since 2012, was retooled in 2025 and now produces batteries for Energy Storage Systems. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply next generation cells for BMW starting in 2026. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply high-performance batteries and components for other OEMs. AESC is committed to our local communities where it is making its investments, creating jobs, and supporting local charities.

Charles J. EHS Specialist & Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Started 2012 “I’ve been with AESC since 2012, starting as a Production Technician and now serving as an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist and Smyrna’s Radiation Safety Officer. Over the past 13.5 years, I’ve supported five battery evolutions: BCR, HC1, HC3, Universal Stack (Gen 4), and now ESS, growing alongside the technology and the company itself. I first heard about AESC from a classmate while I was in college. What began as an opportunity turned into a long-term career focused on protecting people and strengthening operations. My role is multifaceted, but at its core, I keep people safe and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. I work closely with technicians, maintenance and engineers to identify safe ways to execute processes without impacting production. I also support leadership by helping them navigate regulatory requirements and inspections. Much of my work happens behind the scenes and I operate proactively to eliminate problems before they surface. I take the most pride in preventing issues before they ever become visible problems, putting solutions in place early so operations continue safely and smoothly. Our EHS team brings overlapping expertise but unique strengths. We challenge each other constantly. We are questioning assumptions, refining ideas, and finding ways to increase safety while meeting production demands. That continuous push makes us sharper and more effective. AESC is an organization that never stands still. Growth and change are constant, and adaptability is essential. My advice to anyone considering AESC: don’t get comfortable. Be ready to learn, evolve, and embrace change. That’s where real growth happens.” #peoplepowered #AESCUS #joinAESC #batteryjobs #batterycareers #energyjobs #energycareers #manufacturingjobs #manufacturingcareers

Jeremy B. Senior Versatility Supervisor Started 2012 “I began my journey with AESC in 2012 as a Production Technician and have been fortunate to advance through several roles, including Magazine Technician, CCR Analyst, Operations Supervisor, and Maintenance Planner & Scheduler. In July 2025, I assumed my current position as Senior Versatility Supervisor. Throughout my career, I have focused on safety, team leadership, operational excellence, and driving production efficiency while meeting key performance indicators and quality standards. I also lead the material handling team, overseeing processes from start to finish, and support a talented group of supervisors to ensure success across every shift. This past year has been especially rewarding as I collaborated with vendors to install new equipment and celebrated the milestone of producing over one million cells. I take pride in being part of a culture that values hard work, innovation, and continuous learning. I have been recognized with multiple CEO awards for cost-saving initiatives, and I am grateful to work alongside some of the most driven and talented professionals in the industry. If you are dedicated and looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking workplace, AESC is an incredible place to build your career.” #peoplepowered #AESCUS #joinAESC #batteryjobs #batterycareers #energyjobs #energycareers #manufacturingjobs #manufacturingcareers

Brandon G. Maintenance Technician Started 2018 “I joined AESC in 2019 as a Tool and Die Technician after hearing about an opening from a former coworker. At the time, the strong benefits and positive work environment were major factors in my decision to make the move. In my role, I respond to trouble calls, troubleshoot equipment issues, and make repairs related to tooling. I also machine and fabricate parts to improve equipment performance or replace damaged components. Every day brings a new challenge, which keeps the work engaging and hands-on. One of my proudest moments was supporting the ESS launch, machining critical parts to help get machines up and running. Knowing I played a role in bringing new equipment online and contributing to a successful launch was incredibly rewarding. Our tooling team works closely together, stepping in to support one another whenever needed. What I enjoy most about working at AESC is the people. I get to work alongside great friends every day while contributing to technology that continues to evolve and grow.” #peoplepowered #AESCUS #joinAESC #batteryjobs #batterycareers #energyjobs #energycareers #manufacturingjobs #manufacturingcareers
