About Evan Regan

Evan is a games writer and editor based in Edmonton, Alberta. Formerly a sports writer, he was drawn to Game Rant by his longtime passion for video games. Evan has been writing for GameRant for 4 years now, primarily about indie games, horror games, new releases, and older-generation titles, but has played and enjoyed games across all genres and platforms. He is also a frequent binge-watcher and reader, and prefers his music on CD or vinyl. He has two cats that frequently plot ways to ruin his day.

Favorite Games

Currently, my top 10 games of all time are

1. Dark Souls
2. NieR: Automata
3. God of War (2018)
4. BioShock: Infinite
5. Rocket League
6. The Last of Us Part 2
7. Elden Ring
8. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
9. Hollow Knight
10. Outer Wilds

These are always subject to change, as more great games are released every year. I'm personally interested in indie games and great single-player campaigns.

Favorite Console

The best console I've ever owned was also my first console, the PlayStation 2. While my favorite games have all come out since the end of that console's lifetime, my love of gaming would never have happened if not for the PS2 in my parent's basement.

Proudest Gaming Achievement

Completing the Path of Pain in Hollow Knight is probably the hardest gaming achievement I've ever put myself through without feeling like it wasn't worth the effort of putting myself through it. The struggle was so worth it for the satisfaction of completing it.
