More 'serious' games like Ready or Not tend to eschew traditional boss fights, but the raid on Port Hokan is as close as you can get to that in a tactical shooter.

Hide and Seek is the last of the base game levels, and it is a culmination of all the investigations you have facilitated with your door-kicking skills.

This mission has a total of seven objectives, defended by approximately two dozen heavily armed suspects, some of whom are wearing the same clothes as civilians on the premises.

To say you're in for a tough time is an understatement, but here are the Ready or Not Hide and Seek objective locations and tips to complete this mission in one piece.

Ready Or Not: Hide and Seek Tips

Ready Or Not Hide And Seek Map

The Port Hokan area is a veritable maze of containers, forklifts, trucks, and buildings. This makes navigation tricky as the routes are never straightforward, but it also offers plenty of cover in what otherwise would have been a deadly open area. This allows you to peek and shoot from cover before moving, and gives suspects lots of room to hide (and seek).

Although nowhere close to Twisted Nerve, certain parts of Hide and Seek are dark enough to warrant bringing night-vision goggles. If you do, make sure to mount an IR pointer on your weapon, and/or a holographic sight.

Given the size of the map and the occasional long sight lines between covers, I highly recommend having at least one of your team members bring a grenade launcher along. That will allow you to neutralize shooters faster when you need to cross an open area. Some of the suspects here are packing 7.62x51mm rifles with AP rounds, so you don't want to play chicken with them if you can avoid it.

To help with your immersion, the objectives have been crudely-marked by yours truly on top of the similarly crummy map you have on your tablet. Point 3 is comprised of two objectives in the same spot.

If you work the west side by pushing south first, you risk suspects from the northeastern end flanking the long way around and hitting you from behind. If you move east, you end up sandwiched between the suspects in the refinery office and the warehouse.

Between these bad options, I prefer working my way to the refinery first, as the likelihood of being hit from behind is much lower given the distances involved for any cheeky flanking suspect.

If you decide to stay north, move quickly to block the entrances to the warehouse, starting with the door on side 4, then moving down the entrances on side 1, including the office annexes (D1, D2, and D3).

The tricky part of this approach is that you'll be getting shot from the south side all the way down, and by the time you reach the tower, suspects in the refinery reception direction will also take aim at you, on top of potential wildcards popping out of the warehouse before you secure the doors.

You can brute force this path with liberal application of flash grenades and a shield leading the charge.

Ready Or Not: Hide and Seek Objective Locations

All major objectives in Hide and Seek are located inside orange containers tagged with a spider symbol. There are multiple duds scattered around the map, which makes searching a chore if you don't know where to look.

1. Report Illegal Drugs Storage Container

As opposed to the legal drugs container, because people are obviously slinging aspirin in a heavily defended port in Los Sueños.

The first soft objective is a short walk from the entry point. Hug the left side of the map while moving east, while keeping an eye out for a flashlight perched onto an orange barrier. The beam is pointed straight at the container.

2. Locate Weapon Storage Container

The second container of interest is on the southern part of the map, between the entry point and the refinery reception building. Make your way to the parked forklift, then keep right down the container alleyway. The bad guys were kind enough to add arrows down there so you don't get lost.

Make your way through the container with tacky furniture, then turn right. Follow the path toward the BlueFuel refinery reception building. The container with weapons is to your right, recessed between two other ones.

3. Report Missing Persons & Close the Container Doors

Here it is, arguably one of the darkest points in all of Ready or Not, which is saying something. The container with the human trafficking victims is adjacent to building D1.

Upon opening it, you will find a group of emaciated women that you must report. The following exchange is one of the most uncomfortable dialogues I've heard in any shooter, and at the end of it you are left with a choice.

You can follow the order to close the door and complete the soft objective for an additional 50 points, or you can disobey it and risk the wrath of FISA later.

Whatever you choose, make sure you only approach the container once you are done clearing the exterior area of the port, as the location is quite exposed.

4. Report Auction Room Laptops

In keeping with the theme of the previous objective, your last goal is to find the laptops in the auction room where buyers would bid on women.

The auction room is located in a container tunnel that runs along the far side of the warehouse, and you can access it from either end without much difference.

The main entrance is located on the northeastern corner of the warehouse, marked with multiple no-entry signs. The rear entrance can be found along the wall of containers, with doors marked with the spider. If you are playing with AI teammates, the pathfinding is occasionally buggy indoors, and they may refuse to go in.

You will find the laptops in question in the auction room halfway through the tunnel, in a disturbing bidding show that your team just crashed. Report your findings to complete the objective.

Beware of the BDSM Pinhead cosplayer that spawns inside the container tunnel, as he will charge and shoot you point-blank. This area sometimes has a number of scared civilians, so don't just shoot the first shadow moving your way.
