There’s only one problem: Claptrap is incredibly annoying, and most fans would love to see him banished to silicon hell, never to return.
The many players who despise Claptrap will soon have a chance to shut them up for good. It was revealed by Borderlands 4 Narrative Director Sam Winkler (in a post shared by Chadley_99 on Twitter/X) that Claptrap has a dedicated volume slider in the game’s menu.

The ability to shut Claptrap up, at least in terms of voice actor volume, is something that fans really want. The question is, would the feature be enough to help claw back some goodwill, considering how Borderlands 4 has been harshly criticized for its price, as the game is set to be sold for $70.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has annoyed and alienated players with his insulting comments about how “real fans” will find a way to pay the $80 for the game. It’s safe to say that longtime Borderlands fans haven’t been impressed with Pitchford’s comments, proving he’s no magician when it comes to PR.
The Claptrap slider is a fun addition that should have been added a long time ago. In fact, Claptrap should have been gone after the backlash from the first game. Whatever the case, they became the franchise’s mascot, and they're here to stay, but at least fans can keep him quiet this time around.
