Overview
The Master of Arts in Curatorial Practice at Chulalongkorn University promotes transdisciplinary methodology in the field of curating, embracing design with visual and performing arts. The programme brings together an international list of leading art professionals in curatorial practices to bring into the classes contemporary culture and creative expression from the art world. The programme aims to equip curatorial practitioners with the interdisciplinary rigours necessary to develop a 21st century transnational mindset. Internships and curatorial discourse, both key components of the programme, will provide hands-on experience for candidates to work with globally established curators within Asia and across the globe.
Conveniently located in the city center, the faculty is a stone’s throw away from prominent cultural events. Another strength of the MA in Curatorial Practice programme is the partnership and collaboration with leading local and international organisations and institutions.

Why go for
the MA in Curatorial Practice program
at Chula?
1
Inter-disciplinary, cross-cultural blended learning
The MA Curatorial Practice programme offers multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural and transnational blended learning. The courses are mostly taught online with workshops and field trips to different locations in Thailand and abroad. Students get to interact and swap experience with peers and lecturers, which will often turn into exhibition practices for students to fine tune their curatorial skills in practice and theory. Moreover, the MA in Curatorial Practice at Chulalongkorn University offers alternative ideas of curatorial practice, customised to students’ interests and contemporary context.
2
International list of leading art industry professionals
Lecturers, guest lecturers and speakers in the programme, well-known internationally in art and cultural fields, are invited into the class from around the world. Two of the programme’s external advisors are world-class curatorial practitioners: Professor Rirkrit Tiravanija and Dr. Gridthiya Gaweewong.
3
The internship and curatorial discourse: the heart of the programme
To complete the MA in Curatorial Practice, students are required to join internships, but will have the flexibility of carrying out the internship anywhere in the world. The programme aids students in connecting to various galleries, and arts and cultural organisations in different regions. The priceless takeaways are that students get real-life experience in curating and expand their connections.
4
Leading university in Thailand, conveniently located with proximity to major cultural events
As one of the most prominent universities in Thailand, Chulalongkorn University is recognized by many for quality teaching, complete facilities, intellectually-stimulating environment, and the aesthetically pleasing campus– a green oasis in the city. Although the classes are mostly online, the main campus location in central Bangkok will without a doubt create sparks for art and cultural activities.
