The Fallout franchise has been a fan-favorite among gamers since 1997, when the original Fallout RPG released for PC players. Reviving the rpg genre from the lull that gripped the video game industry during the '90s, Fallout is still one of the most popular rpg franchises in gaming. Across more than two-and-a-half decades, Bethesda's apocalyptic rpg has seen multiple video games, tributes in other game franchises, several canceled movies, a TV adaptation, and some unforgettable tabletop games. Another incredible tabletop card game is on its way, and fans will definitely want to add Fallout: Power Play to their collections.
Modiphius has been at the forefront when it comes to bringing some of the most popular video game franchises to tabletop, including Fallout. From the Fallout wargame to the ttrpg experience that immerses players straight into the Wastelands, Modiphius is a trusted name in the tabletop world. Their latest contribution to the franchise, Fallout Power Play, is officially available for pre-order, and I got my hands on a copy of the game to review just in time for the holidays.
Fallout: Power Play Throws 2-4 Players Against Each Other for Control of the Wastes

Players in this 2-4 player games take control of Fallout's famous factions: the Brotherhood, Raiders, Super Mutants, and the Enclave. Working their agents against each other to gain absolute dominance and control over the Wasteland, the game consists of rounds and turns, with each round potentially capable of ending the game, depending on Victory Point accumulations.
Every round, players take their turns, deploying agents, taking quests and gaining influence that racks up in points. The first player to reach 10 Victory Points wins the game. All of that sounds easy enough, there's far more to it than that.
On top of using Power Play cards to one-up fellow challengers for Dominance, the Wasteland itself throws out challenges with dangerous Wasteland Events. Designed to make even the most powerful players quake on their quest to take over and reign supreme, Wasteland Events range from dropping atomic bombs on the most influential locations to facing down powerful beasts like the Deathclaw.
With four different factions to choose from, each one hosts its own unique rule. Unique rules give the player a leg up, granting opportunities to increase their current power by meeting the requirements established on the card. At the end of each round, victory points are tallied up, and if there is no victor, the next round begins.
Fallout: Power Play Is Perfect For Game Night Gatherings
Hosting game nights is convenient because it allows you to choose from your own collection. Heading out to a friend's doesn't always offer the same option, as many of the more intricate tabletop games can be a bit unwieldy. The great thing about Fallout: Power Play is that everything needed to play comes in a compact box with a magnetic closure to hold it all in place.
Don't let the compact nature deceive you, however. It may come in a small package, but it's packed with challenges and potential. Because of the unique game mechanics, designed by Resurrectionist Games, Fallout: Power Play can be played again and again without running the risk of achieving the same outcome. Even as the challenges become familiar across multiple sessions of gameplay, it's still unpredictable because players never know what they're going to pull from the decks.
About Resurrectionist Games
A small company based in Devon, United Kingdom, the team at Resurrectionist Games have created Board Games, Card Games, and TTRPGS for both major IPs and original content. Resurrectionist Games is currently developing the company's first independent IP—which has been percolating for years and will soon be ready to go public.
Add to that how easy the game system is to learn, and it's sure to become a game night favorite for everyone at the table, even those who've never even heard of the Fallout franchise. The fact that it's easy to learn doesn't detract from the challenge and competition Fallout: Power Play presents to players. Modiphius has always excelled in this aspect, ensuring that no matter what system the games they release might use, they're as challenging as they are fun to play.
Pre-Orders for Fallout: Power Play Are Open Now
With the game due to ship in late January 2026, now is the perfect time to pre-order Fallout: Power Play from Modiphius. Designed for 2–4 players ages 14 and up, the average play time runs from 30-45 minutes, making it even more suitable for game night tables. It may not be available in time for the holidays, but pre-ordering now means getting hands on it quickly after shipping begins.
The familiar Art Deco style Fallout draws inspiration from adorns each card in ways that make it feel like Vault Boy himself gives it his personal endorsement.
